The Dirassa+ guide
Dirassa Studio

Plan a whole course in Dirassa Studio and send it to Dirassa+

Have a course in mind but no starting point? The “Course planning” module writes its whole outline: sections, and in each one lessons with their title, type and estimated length, plus assessments and a free preview lesson if you want them. You edit it by hand, refine it for free, then publish it as a new draft course on Dirassa Plus, every lesson “coming soon” until you fill it.

  • A few minutes for the first outline, then as many edits as you like
  • 4 steps

Who can do it: Requires a computer linked to your school in Dirassa Studio, and a balance of at least one coin.

In 4 steps

  1. 1Open “Course planning”, type the “Course title” and the “Subject and level”, and answer the question: what will the student be able to do after the course?
  2. 2“Build the outline” for one coin: sections, and lessons with their type and length.
  3. 3Edit titles, types and lengths in place; redo a section or the whole outline for free, within a daily limit.
  4. 4“Publish to Dirassa+”: a new draft course, every lesson “coming soon” until you fill it in “Curriculum”.

Before you start

  • Dirassa Studio installed and linked to your school; download it from “Downloads & devices” in the dashboard (/dashboard/studio/downloads).
  • One coin under “Balance” for the first outline. Redoing a section or the whole outline is free within a daily limit, and publishing is free.
  • Your existing courses on Dirassa Plus help: from two courses with lessons, the Studio reads how you usually build.
  • Nothing is written into an existing course: publishing always creates a new one.
  1. Step 1 of 4

    Describe your course

In the sidebar, under “Teach”, open “Course planning”. The “Let's build your course outline” screen is four lines long: the “Course title” (at least two characters for the button to work), the “Subject and level”, and the “Course size”: sections × lessons per section, read from your courses (“Average of your 3 courses”) if you have two with lessons, otherwise “Starting values” of 5 sections × 6 lessons; “Change” opens two steppers, 2 to 14 sections and 2 to 13 lessons, then “Done”. Next, “What you usually add”: “An assessment after each section”, “A free preview lesson” and “A live question session”; tap one to turn it on or off. Last, the one question none of your courses can answer for you: “What will the student be able to do after the course that they could not before?”

On screenTeachCourse planningLet's build your course outlineCourse titleSubject and levelCourse sizeChangeDoneWhat you usually addFrom your courses

TipOne line is enough, but don’t leave it empty: “Your answer here is what turns a list of titles into a progression with a direction. One line is enough; leaving it empty produces an index of the subject, not a course.” Write an action you can see, such as “shoot a product for a real shop and deliver it edited from their phone”, not “discover photography”.

Heads-upIf you see “This device is not linked to your account, so we cannot read your courses or publish to them.”, press “Link” and link the device first: without it nothing is read from your courses, and neither building nor publishing works.

  2. Step 2 of 4

    Build the outline

Under the question: “Build the outline” and, beneath it, its price: a single coin, with every refinement after it free that day. The whole outline is a single request for one coin, however many sections and lessons it has. The button turns “Building…” with “Reading your idea and drawing the progression…”, then the studio opens in three columns. In the middle, the sections: each with its number, its title and a line like “6 lessons · 140 min”, then its lessons, each with its type (“Lesson”, “Assessment” or “Live session”), its title and its estimated length in minutes, and “Free” on the preview lesson. On one side the “Refinement” column, on the other “What the student walks away with” and “As I understood it”: two lines restating what the writer understood from your request. Below them, the counters: “Sections”, “Lessons”, “Assessments”, “Free preview” and “Estimated length”.

On screenBuild the outlineBuilding…Reading your idea and drawing the progression…LessonAssessmentLive sessionFreeRefinementWhat the student walks away withAs I understood it

TipRead “As I understood it” before any edit: if the writer misunderstood your course, correct it now with a note under “Refinement”, before you arrange dozens of lessons on a misunderstanding.

Heads-upIf building fails you see “The service did not answer, and nothing was charged.” and you are back on the form as you left it. “Your balance is not enough.” charges nothing: top up, then press the button again.

  3. Step 3 of 4

    Edit and refine the outline

Everything is edited in place. Click a section or lesson title and type, then Enter (Escape undoes). Click a lesson’s type to cycle it: “Lesson”, then “Assessment”, then “Live session”. Hovering a lesson row shows “Free” (or “Make it paid”) and the delete button, and the length is a number from 5 to 180 minutes. Drag a lesson or a section by its handle to reorder it, “Add a lesson” sits under each section, and “New section — or describe it and we build its lessons” at the bottom. For a section whose lessons you don’t like: “Section idea” opens a line to write what you want, and “Redo” rebuilds its lessons alone and keeps its title. In the “Refinement” column, write a note (“it is saved and applied to everything after it.”), then “Regenerate · free” to rebuild the whole outline in its light. Every edit is saved on your computer at once.

Tip“Redo” and “Regenerate · free” are free within a daily limit shown under the regenerate button (“N of N generations today”). When “You have reached today's limit” appears, edit by hand today and regenerate tomorrow.

Heads-up“Regenerate · free” rebuilds the whole outline and replaces the current sections and lessons, including what you edited by hand. So write your notes and regenerate first, then fix titles by hand at the end.

  4. Step 4 of 4

    Publish it to Dirassa Plus

Press “Publish to Dirassa+” at the top of the studio. The “Publish “…”” sheet opens: “A course will be created as a new draft on Dirassa+ — no existing course is touched, and your students see nothing.” With what will be created, in numbers: “Sections”, “Lessons”, “of which assessments” and “Free preview”, and “All of them marked “coming soon” until you open them one by one.” If the outline is missing something, it is listed under “Before you publish”: a course with no title, a section with no lessons, lessons with no title. Press “Publish”: “Publishing…”, then “Published to Dirassa+”: “The course was created as a draft with 5 sections and 30 lessons, all “coming soon”. Open it in Dirassa+ to fill it in and publish.” Publishing costs nothing.

TipOn the web, open the course from “Courses”, then the “Curriculum” tab: fill each lesson, turn its “Coming soon” off and publish it. While it is “Coming soon”, “Students see the title only — nothing opens and it doesn't count toward progress.”

Heads-upEach publish creates a new course and doesn’t update one you published before: edit the outline and publish it a second time and you have two courses. After the first publish, keep editing on the web in “Curriculum”.

Questions

How much does an outline cost?

One coin for the whole first outline, however many sections and lessons it has. Redoing a section (“Redo”) and regenerating the outline (“Regenerate · free”) are free within a daily limit, and publishing to Dirassa+ is free. If building fails, nothing is charged.

Does the outline write the lessons’ content?

No. It writes titles, types and estimated lengths only; you write or record the content of each lesson. The length here is an estimate for planning.

How does it know the size of my courses?

From your courses on Dirassa+: if you have at least two with lessons, it takes the average number of sections and lessons per section (“Average of your N courses”) and turns on “An assessment after each section”. Otherwise it starts from 5 sections × 6 lessons. Change any of it with “Change”.

What language is the outline written in?

Modern Standard Arabic, whatever the interface language. If your course is in another language, retitle the lessons by hand.

What is the difference between “Redo” and “Regenerate · free”?

“Redo” works on one section: it rebuilds its lessons from the “Section idea” and keeps its title and the rest of the outline. “Regenerate · free”, in the “Refinement” column, rebuilds the whole outline from your notes and replaces your hand edits.

Does publishing touch an existing course?

No: “Your students see nothing until you open it, and publishing touches no existing course.” It creates a new draft course each time, every lesson “coming soon”.

Is my outline lost if I close the Studio?

No. It is saved on this computer at every edit and on closing. Once you have more than one outline, a “Plans” strip appears at the top of the module with each outline, its delete button, and “New plan”.

Why one free lesson?

With “A free preview lesson” on, one free lesson is asked for in the first section, picked to show what the course is worth. Change it with “Free” or “Make it paid” on any lesson.
