Offers and coupons: discounts with clear rules, results in money
“Offers and discounts” and “Coupons” are two pages in the “Catalogue” group of “Store”. The first holds eleven kinds of offers: each is set on one screen next to a preview of what the buyer will see, and every offer shows its result in money. The second holds the codes typed at checkout, including the influencer code, credited to its owner. In this lesson Meriem Larbi, a social-media marketing trainer, launches offers on her printed “Content plan notebook” (1,600 DZD) and her digital “Post templates” (2,400 DZD): a weekend sale with a countdown, “Two notebooks, the third free”, free shipping above 5,000 DZD, and the coupon RANIA10 for a content creator who promotes her. The same steps serve a photographer selling editing presets or a teacher selling books.
- About 15 minutes
- 9 steps
Who can do it: Whoever has the “Store and products” permission: the owner and anyone they give it to. A school teacher who only has “Sell their products in the school store” does not see these two pages.
In 9 steps
- 1“Offers and discounts” in “Catalogue”: four figures, then offers split by time, each with its result in money and its actions.
- 2“New offer”: eleven kinds in three moments — on the product price, on the order, at the moment of buying.
- 3One editor for every kind: name, price (percent, amount or new price), products, time, and a live preview.
- 4The limited offer: countdown, pieces at the offer price, a limit per buyer, where it shows, and what it costs if the cap sells out.
Show all
- 5Buy X get Y, quantity tiers, buy them together, students’ price and first order: each with its own rule.
- 6Free shipping above an amount, the box in the “Order now” form, and the offer on the thank-you page.
- 7“Coupons”: code, discount, minimum order, number of uses, end date and once per buyer.
- 8The influencer code: credited to its owner, the reward counted on delivered orders only.
- 9At checkout: the best offer per product, then one coupon if the offer allows it, then free shipping; and where buyers see it all.
Before you start
- Products published in “Products”, sorted into categories if you want an offer on a whole category.
- Know what a parcel costs you at the carrier: free shipping comes out of your pocket.
- For an influencer code: agree on the reward with its owner before creating it, an amount or a percent per sale.
- Step 1 of 9
“Offers and discounts”: what is running, and what it brought
In “Store”, open “Offers and discounts” in the “Catalogue” group. At the top, the period choice (“7 days” or “30 days”) and the “Stacking rule” and “New offer” buttons, then four figures for the period: “Sales touched by offers”, “Given as discount”, “Orders that used an offer” with their basket compared with the rest, and “Best performer”. The list is split by time, not by tabs: “Running now · …”, “Scheduled · …”, “Paused · …”, “Drafts · …” and “Recently ended · …”. Each row shows the offer’s name with what it does in your own numbers underneath (for example: Content plan notebook · −20% · first 100 pieces), then its type, its result (“Used … times” and “… in sales”, or “… of … pieces” with a bar for a limited offer) and its time (“Always on”, “Until …”, or “… d … h left” in red over the last three days). Clicking the row opens the offer, and the dots button at its end holds its actions: “Open and edit”, “Pause” or “Resume”, “End now”, “Duplicate” (“Run it again” for an ended offer) and “Delete draft”.
On screenStoreCatalogueOffers and discountsStacking ruleNew offerSales touched by offersGiven as discountBest performerRunning now · …Scheduled · …Paused · …PauseEnd nowDelete draftTip“Used … times” counts at ordering and drops if the order is cancelled; “… in sales” only grows once the order is delivered or completed. So an offer started yesterday can be used a lot and still show few sales.
Heads-up“End now” sets the offer’s end to this moment, and the price returns on its own: “Offer ended; prices are back on their own”. “Delete draft” only shows for a draft that was never used; an offer that ran is ended, not deleted, so its result stays.
- Step 2 of 9
“New offer”: eleven kinds in three moments
Click “New offer”: a panel lists the kinds grouped by the moment the offer acts, each with a short example. “On the product price”: “Discount on a product or category”, “Limited offer with a countdown”, “Quantity discount” and “Special price for a course’s students”. “On the order”: “Coupon”, “Buy X, get Y”, “Buy them together” and “Free shipping above an amount”. “At the moment of buying”: “First order”, “Add-on in the order form” and “After-purchase offer”. Every kind opens the same editor with its own settings, except “Coupon”, which takes you to “Coupons” and the “New coupon” panel. At the end of the third group you may find “Not sure which?”: one suggestion drawn from your store’s numbers — free shipping about 30% above your usual basket if you have at least 5 orders and no shipping offer, otherwise a box with your cheapest published physical product, about 22% off, in the “Order now” form.

The coupon comes after, from “Coupons”.
- Step 3 of 9
One editor: name, price, products, time
Meriem picks “Limited offer with a countdown” and the editor opens: at the top “Offers” to go back and the offer’s type; beside it, “Live preview” “As the buyer will see it”, on “Phone” or “Desktop” and in her academy’s colour. In “Name” she types the “Offer name (buyers see it)”: Weekend sale. In “Price”, three forms for a discount or a limited offer: “Percent %” (1 to 90%), a “Fixed amount” taken off the price, or a “New price” typed as is; Meriem types 20%. In “On which products”: “Whole store”, “Chosen products” (a searchable list showing the old price struck through and 1,280 DZD beside it) or “Category”. In “Time”, “Starts” and “Ends”, “Algiers time.”: left empty they mean “As soon as it is published” and “No end”, but a limited offer needs both, from Thursday 18:00 to Saturday 23:59. Then the bar at the bottom: “Publish the offer”, or “Schedule the offer” when the start is later, and “Save as draft”.
On screenOffersLive previewOffer name (buyers see it)Percent %Fixed amountNew priceOn which productsChosen productsCategoryTimeAlgiers time.Publish the offerSchedule the offerSave as draftTip“Schedule the offer” puts it in “Scheduled · …” and it starts on its own: “Offer scheduled; it starts on its own”. For an offer already published, the button becomes “Save changes”, with “Undo”. If something is missing it is written in red, and the bar says “Fix what is written in red first.”
Heads-up“New price” is one price for every product in scope, and it never raises a price: on “Whole store”, every product dearer than it drops to that price and cheaper ones stay as they are. Use it on “Chosen products”.
- Step 4 of 9
The limited offer: countdown, cap, and where it shows
A limited offer has more settings. In “Time”, the switches “Show the countdown to buyers” and “Tell my students when it starts”. In “Limits”: “Pieces at the offer price” (Meriem types 100; “Then the regular price returns.”, even before the end) and “Per buyer”, “Known by phone number.”; empty means “No limit”, and if a product in scope has less stock than the cap, a warning says so. In “Where it shows”, four choices, the first three ticked from the start: “Banner at the top of the store”, “Badge and countdown on the card”, “In the student portal” and “Announcement bar on the site”. With a cap, “What it costs you if the cap sells out” appears, worked out on the average price of the products in scope: “Sales at the offer price” 128,000 DZD, “Given as discount” 32,000 DZD and “Average discount per piece” 320 DZD. In the preview, a banner with the offer’s name, a “Shop the offer” button and a real countdown; the offer stops on its own at its end or when the cap runs out.

The offer bar section you place on your site’s pages shows that same offer, otherwise the one with “Announcement bar on the site”.
Heads-upIn this version, “Tell my students when it starts” is saved but no notice is sent yet, and “Badge and countdown on the card” and “In the student portal” change nothing yet: the discounted price shows on the card and in the student portal either way. And “Per buyer” counts orders from the same phone, not pieces: 2 means two orders at the offer price, whatever the quantity in each; only “Pieces at the offer price” counts pieces.
- Step 5 of 9
Buy and get, quantity, together, students and first order
“Buy X, get Y”: in “Buy and get”, Meriem sets “Buy” 2, “Get” 1 and “Their discount” 100% (“100% = free”), on the Content plan notebook only, and names it “Two notebooks, the third free”. The free piece is counted within the cart quantity: whoever puts 3 notebooks in pays 3,200 DZD instead of 4,800, whoever puts 6 gets two free, and whoever puts 2 pays full price for both. “Quantity discount”: in “Quantity tiers”, up to five tiers with “When buying” and “Discount per piece”; the highest tier the product reaches in the cart applies to all its pieces. “Buy them together”: in “Products together”, two to five products and the “Discount when all are in the cart”, shown under the product. “Special price for a course’s students”: a percent only an enrolled student sees once signed in, for students of the “Courses” you pick or “For all your enrolled students”. And “First order”: a percent or an amount on the order, for a phone number that has never received an order from you.
On screenBuy and getBuyGetTheir discount100% = freeQuantity tiersWhen buyingDiscount per pieceAdd a tierProducts togetherDiscount when all are in the cartCoursesFor all your enrolled studentsTipAt the weekend two offers cover the notebook, and they do not add up: each product in the cart takes the best one for the buyer. 3 notebooks: the free piece saves 1,600 DZD and the sale 960, so the free piece applies; 2 notebooks: the free piece saves nothing and the sale 640, so the sale applies.
Heads-upA visitor never sees the “Special price for a course’s students”: they see the regular price until they sign in with a student account. And no offer touches a gift card or a product whose price the buyer chooses.
- Step 6 of 9
Free shipping, the form box and the after-purchase offer
“Free shipping above an amount”: in “Free shipping condition”, Meriem sets “Above” to 5,000 DZD (“Product total after discounts, without delivery.”) and picks the “Delivery type”: “To the desk”, “To the home” or both. Only what travels in the parcel counts: her digital templates do not bring the buyer closer, and the cart tells them how much is left. “Add-on in the order form”: she picks the “Product offered” (her Planning stickers) and “Its price in the form”, 350 DZD, with “instead of …” and the regular price under it, then “The line the buyer reads” and “With physical products only”. One box then shows in the “Order now” form of her other products, and as a suggestion in the cart, to arrive in the same parcel. “After-purchase offer”: a product at “Its price in the offer” on the thank-you page, added to the same order in one tap without typing the address again, for “How long it shows on the thank-you page” (10 minutes to start, up to 120). The price of the box and of the after-purchase offer is final: no other offer or coupon goes on it.
On screenFree shipping conditionAboveDelivery typeTo the deskTo the homeProduct offeredIts price in the formThe line the buyer readsWith physical products onlyIts price in the offerHow long it shows on the thank-you pageTip“Free shipping comes out of your pocket: the parcel price stays on your carrier account.” And if your store has its own free-delivery threshold in the delivery settings (“Carriers and rates”), both work together: either one being met is enough.
Heads-up“One suggestion only: one box in the form and one offer after it; a third cannot be added.” Publishing a second box while one is running is refused: “Another offer of this type is running. Pause it first, or save this one as a draft.” In this version the after-purchase offer only suggests a physical product, for an order that has a parcel, and of the “When it does not show” lines only stock is checked today.
- Step 7 of 9
“Coupons”: a code typed at checkout
Open “Coupons” in “Catalogue”: two tabs, “Active …” and “Ended …”; each code shows its discount, its uses (14 / 300 with a bar, or ∞ without a limit) and its sales, and “Export” downloads them all in a file. Click “New coupon”: the “Code” in Latin letters, digits, - or _ (2 to 30, capitalised on its own), or “Generate a code”, then the “Discount” in % or DA and the “Value”. Next “Minimum order” (“No minimum” if left empty), “Number of uses” (“Empty = unlimited.”) and “Expires on”: “Last day it works, until 23:59 Algiers time.”. Then “Once per buyer” (“Known by phone number.”) and “On what”: “Whole store”, “Chosen products” or “Category”. Below, “As the buyer sees it at checkout”: the code, the “Apply” button and what it takes off a sample order of 3,200 DZD. And “Create the coupon” saves it active right away and copies its link: “… created and its link copied”.
On screenCouponsActive …Ended …ExportNew couponCodeGenerate a codeMinimum orderNumber of usesExpires onOnce per buyerOn whatAs the buyer sees it at checkoutCreate the couponTipThe “Minimum order” is measured on products after automatic offers, without delivery, and the discount only lands on the products covered by “On what”. You edit, pause or end a coupon from the dots button on its row, as with offers.
Heads-upA coupon’s dots button shows your store link with the code (?promo=…) for copying, but in this version the store does not fill the code in from the link yet: the buyer types it in the cart or at checkout. So write the code itself in every post.
- Step 8 of 9
The influencer code RANIA10: what it brought, what is owed
In “New coupon”, Meriem types RANIA10 and 10%, turns on “Once per buyer”, then turns on “Influencer code”: “Credited to its owner: orders, money and reward.”. In “Code owner” she writes Rania Bouzid; in “Reward per sale” she picks “DA”, “%” or “None” for tracking only, then the “Reward”: 200 DZD. The preview reads “… off from …” with Rania’s name, and −320 DZD on the sample order. Once saved, “Coupons” shows the “Influencer codes” block: for each code, its orders (“… orders · … delivered · … on the way”), its delivered sales, its reward (“… per sale”) and “Owed”; at the bottom, “Owed now” and “Counted on … orders delivered and cashed, not on the … placed.”. “Ready link” copies the code’s link, and when Meriem pays Rania herself she clicks “Mark as paid”: the payment is recorded (“Payment of … recorded for …”) and what is owed goes back to zero until more orders are delivered.
On screenInfluencer codeCode ownerReward per saleNoneRewardInfluencer codesInfluencer · …OwedOwed nowReady linkMark as paidTip“The reward is earned only once the order is delivered and cashed, not when it is placed.” 14 orders with the code, 9 delivered and 5 on the way: owed 9 × 200 = 1,800 DZD. Cancelled and returned orders do not count, and a percent reward is worked out on the delivered orders’ amount, without delivery.
Heads-up“Mark as paid” records a payment and moves no money: paying the code’s owner is between you. And the owner has no page in this version, so share the “Influencer codes” figures with Rania yourself.
- Step 9 of 9
At checkout: how offers and a coupon combine, and where buyers see them
The “Stacking rule” at the top of “Offers and discounts” puts it in three lines, and the price is worked out in this order. First “One discount per product: the best for the buyer among the offers that include it.”, and the box’s product keeps the box price alone. Then one coupon on the order, landing only on products with no offer or whose offer has, in “Stacking”, “Combined with one coupon on the order” (“The coupon applies after the offer price.”); the starting choice is “Not combined with coupons” (“Recommended”). “First order” lands on the same products and never adds up with a coupon: the buyer keeps the larger of the two. Then free shipping if its condition is met, in both cases. Example: 3 notebooks (3,200 DZD after the free one) and the Post templates (2,400 DZD) with RANIA10: the coupon takes 10% of the templates only, 240 DZD, and would take 560 DZD if Meriem had made the free-piece offer combinable; only the notebooks travel, 3,200 of 5,000, so the buyer pays for delivery.

And on your site’s pages, a section shows the running offer and its countdown on one line.
Heads-upIf every product in the cart covered by the coupon has a “Not combined with coupons” offer, the code is refused with a line saying it does not combine with the running offer, and the offer price stays. And “Two coupons never combine.”: there is a single code field.
After the offers
- Show the offer in your storeThe banner that follows an offer with its countdown, and what shows on cards and pages.
- Delivery pricesThe price of each wilaya, and the store’s own free-delivery threshold.
- OrdersFrom order to delivery: when an offer’s sales and an influencer’s reward are counted.
- Products and categoriesSort your products into categories so one offer covers them.
Questions
Why did the store refuse the coupon when the order is above the minimum?
Because every product in the cart covered by the coupon has a “Not combined with coupons” offer, so nothing is left for it to land on. Open the offer and pick “Combined with one coupon on the order” in “Stacking” if you want both. The other reasons: the coupon has expired, the order is below the “Minimum order”, the “Number of uses” has run out, or the same phone number already used it.
Does the buyer get the sale and the free piece on the same notebook?
No. Each product in the cart takes one offer, the best for the buyer among those that include it. 3 notebooks at the weekend: the free piece (1,600 DZD) beats the 20% (960 DZD), so only the free piece applies.
Why did the buyer pay for delivery with a 5,600 DZD cart?
Because “Free shipping above an amount” only counts what travels in the parcel, after discounts and without delivery. The digital templates do not count: the notebooks alone make 3,200 DZD of 5,000. The cart tells the buyer how much is left.
When do I pay an influencer code’s owner, and how much?
“Owed” is counted on delivered and cashed orders only, not on placed ones. Pay them yourself, then click “Mark as paid” to record the payment and bring what is owed back to zero.
Can I run two boxes in the “Order now” form?
No. “One suggestion only: one box in the form and one offer after it; a third cannot be added.” Pause the running box first, or save the new one as a draft.
What happens when the limited offer ends or its cap runs out?
The price returns on its own. After its end date the offer moves to “Recently ended · …” with its result. To run it again next week, choose “Run it again”: a draft copy with no dates is created, you set its time and publish it.
Can I delete an offer that has ended?
No. “Delete draft” is for a draft that was never used. An offer that ran is ended with “End now” and stays in the list with its result.
