Student reviews: verified, screenshots and lesson notes

What your students say sells better than what you say, as long as it’s honest about where it came from. “Student reviews” keeps it in three kinds that never mix: reviews your students wrote from their own accounts after you asked, screenshots of what they said on WhatsApp or Facebook with their permission, and their notes on lessons. Add something once and it shows on your page and on every page selling your course. In this lesson Samia Benomar asks the students of “Baccalaureate physics” for reviews, publishes Amina’s and replies to it, and adds a thank-you from Ishak’s mother on WhatsApp; then Mourad Belkacem, director of Al Ofok Academy, goes through Karim Haddad’s students’ reviews.

  • About 6 minutes
  • 10 steps

Who can do it: Each teacher sees the reviews of their own courses. In “School”, the teacher opens them from “My students’ reviews”, and the director (or anyone with “Manage team and invitations”) sees their team’s teachers and picks between them. In a solo teacher’s workspace, whoever edits showcases or offers manages them.

In 10 steps

  1. 1Open “Student reviews”: four numbers and four tabs, “Verified”, “Screenshots from elsewhere”, “Lesson notes”, “Where they show”.
  2. 2“Ask your students”: pick the course, and the request reaches every eligible student.
  3. 3The student writes from “My reviews”: an optional rating, the text, a shown name, and consent.
  4. 4Decide in “Verified”: “Publish” or “Hide”. The text is never edited.
Show all
  1. 5“Reply publicly”: your reply shows under the review on your pages.
  2. 6“Add a screenshot”: image or link, source, shown name, course, and its author’s permission.
  3. 7Order, hide or delete screenshots; they never count in the rating.
  4. 8“Lesson notes”: for you only, except what their author chose to share.
  5. 9“Where they show”: your page in “Our teachers” and the reviews section of sales pages.
  6. 10The director picks the teacher under “Teacher”, decides on their reviews and hides their screenshots if needed.

Before you start

  • At least one published course: you can’t ask about a draft.
  • Students enrolled for a week or more, 30% through the course or present at a live.
  • For screenshots: the message image with the phone number hidden, and its author’s permission.
  1. Step 1 of 10

The page: three kinds that never mix

Open “Student reviews” under “Reach” in the “Community” panel beside the column. In the school, a teacher finds it as “My students’ reviews” under “My school”, the director as “Student reviews” under “Administration”. At the top, two buttons: “Add a screenshot” and “Ask your students”. Then four numbers: “Verified student rating” (“4.6 of 5”, “18 ratings”; the average shows from 5 ratings), “Published reviews”, “Waiting for you” and “Screenshots shown” (“of 6 screenshots”). Below, four tabs: “Verified”, “Screenshots from elsewhere”, “Lesson notes” and “Where they show”.

TipWhen a review is waiting for you, the page opens straight on “Verified”.

  2. Step 2 of 10

“Ask your students”: everyone, not picked names

Click “Ask your students” and a panel opens: “The request reaches every eligible student; you don’t pick names.” Choose the published course and read what will happen: “31 eligible students”, “The request reaches 24 students”, “7 students already wrote”. Eligible: enrolled for 7 days and 30% through the course, or attended a live; a student is invited at most once every 90 days. Then “Send the request (24)”: “Request sent to 24 students.” Each student gets a notification and finds the request in their portal.

On screenAsk your studentsAbout which course?Send the request

Heads-upAsked about the same course less than a week ago? The button stays off, with the date you can ask again.

  3. Step 3 of 10

What the student writes, with consent

In the student’s portal, “My reviews” → “What you were asked about”: the course, a deadline, and “Write my review”. The request also reaches their home, as a row under “Waiting for you”: “Your teacher would like your opinion”, “A few words are enough · until …” and “Write”, which opens “My reviews”. They choose “Your rating” (optional, 1 to 5, read as “5 of 5”), write “Your review” in 20 to 600 characters, and pick the “Name shown”: “My full name”, “First name + initial” (“Amina B.”) or “No name”, which shows “Student of the course”. Then they tick “I agree to my review being published on the teacher’s public pages.” and press “Send my review”. They know the teacher reviews it before publishing and cannot edit it, and that it shows with “Verified student”.

On screenMy reviewsWrite my reviewWaiting for youYour teacher would like your opinionYour ratingYour reviewName shownMy full nameFirst name + initialNo nameSend my review

TipThe student can withdraw their review any time from “My reviews” (“Withdraw my review”): it disappears everywhere, and you read “Withdrawn by its author”.

  4. Step 4 of 10

“Verified”: publish or hide, never edit

The “Verified” tab: “Reviews your students wrote themselves”, with its rule on top: “The text is never edited: publish, hide, or reply”. What’s waiting comes first, marked “Waiting for you”: the rating “5 of 5”, the shown name, the course, the date, and the text as written. If the author picked another name than theirs, you read “Written by …” under it. The buttons: “Publish” (“Review published.”), and it becomes “Published”; “Hide” (“Review hidden.”), and it becomes “Hidden”; and “Reply publicly”. A hidden review can be published later, and the other way round.

On screenVerifiedWaiting for youPublishHidePublishedHiddenReply publiclyWithdrawn by its author

Heads-upHiding a review doesn’t take it out of the rating: a hidden review stays in the average so the score is never curated. It simply isn’t shown.

  5. Step 5 of 10

    “Reply publicly”

Click “Reply publicly” under a review: “Your public reply” opens, with the review on top and your reply below, up to 400 characters. “Shown under the review on your pages. Leave empty to remove it.” Then “Save reply” (“Reply saved.”). The list shows “Your reply: …”, and the button becomes “Edit your reply”.

On screenReply publiclyYour public replySave replyEdit your reply

TipA short reply picking up the student’s own words (“glad the springs experiment made it click”) tells a visitor there’s a teacher present behind the course.

  6. Step 6 of 10

“Add a screenshot”: what they said elsewhere

A thank-you on WhatsApp, a Facebook comment… Click “Add a screenshot” and “New screenshot” opens. “Screenshot”: drop, paste or choose the image (“Hide the phone number and anything its author does not want shown before uploading”). “Source”: WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, Messenger, TikTok, YouTube, Email, or “Other source” with its name. “Post link”: for a public comment, the link alone is proof enough; it starts with https://. “Name shown (optional)”: “Ishak’s mother” or “Amina B.”, as its author agrees. “About which course?”: a course, or “All my courses”. Then the permission: “The author of this message agreed to its publication on my pages, and I hid their number and anything they don’t want shown.” and “Save”: “Screenshot added; it now shows on your pages.”

On screenAdd a screenshotNew screenshotScreenshotSourceOther sourcePost link (optional with an image)Name shown (optional)About which course? All my coursesSave

Heads-upNo screenshot without proof (“nothing is saved without proof”) or without permission (“No screenshot is published without its author’s permission.”). And never typed text: a real screenshot or a public link only.

  7. Step 7 of 10

Your screenshots: order and hide them

The “Screenshots from elsewhere” tab opens on its rule: “Shown as «Screenshot from …», without stars, never in the rating.” Each one shows its image (or link), its “Screenshot from WhatsApp” mark, the shown name, the course, and five buttons: “Edit”, “Hide” or “Show”, “Move up” and “Move down” for the order they appear in, and “Delete” (“Delete this screenshot from all your pages?”). A hidden one stays with you, marked “Hidden”. If the school’s director hid it, you read “Hidden by the school”, and only they can bring it back.

On screenScreenshots from elsewhereEditHideShowMove upMove downDeleteHiddenHidden by the school

TipMove your two strongest screenshots up: the order here is the order on your page.

Heads-upThe message’s author asks for it to go? “Delete” right away: it disappears from all your pages.

  8. Step 8 of 10

“Lesson notes”: yours, except what’s shared

After each lesson the student is asked how it went: a rating out of 5, an optional note, and the box “Let my note and first name appear on the teacher’s public page”. Every note reaches you in “Lesson notes”, with the name, course, lesson and date, and on top the “Lesson rating” with how many ratings it comes from (from 5 ratings). The rule: “These notes reach you alone. Your public page shows only those their authors agreed to share.” Each one carries “Shared” or “For you only”.

On screenLesson notesLet my note and first name appear on the teacher’s public pageSharedFor you only

TipA “For you only” note says what a published review won’t: the lesson that ran long, the example that didn’t land. Read it before recording the next one.

  9. Step 9 of 10

    “Where they show”

The “Where they show” tab says what happens after your decision. “Your page in «Our teachers»” (in “School”): published verified reviews, lesson notes their authors agreed to share, and shown screenshots. “Sales pages (showcases)”: the «Sourced reviews» section on every page selling your course shows published reviews and screenshots with an image, with no adding them page by page. “Rating out of 5”: from verified reviews only, from 5 ratings, and a hidden review stays in the average. And “The student’s right”: they withdraw a review whenever they like, and you delete a screenshot whenever its author asks.

On screenWhere they showYour page in «Our teachers»Sales pages (showcases)Rating out of 5The student’s right

TipOn the teacher’s public page, the rating is written as a number and a bar: “4.6 out of 5”.

  10. Step 10 of 10

    The director picks the teacher

Mourad opens “Student reviews” under “Administration” in “School”. Above the numbers, the “Teacher” field lists every teacher on his team who has courses: he picks Karim Haddad, and the page becomes Karim’s, his name above the title: his numbers, reviews, screenshots and lesson notes. The director decides on Karim’s reviews as Karim would: “Publish”, “Hide”, “Reply publicly”. A screenshot that doesn’t suit the school? “Hide”: Karim reads “Hidden by the school”, and can’t bring it back himself.

On screenStudent reviewsTeacherHideHidden by the school

TipInside a school, a teacher manages their own courses’ reviews only, even if their role can edit showcases.

Heads-upThe director sees only their team’s teachers, as their role’s scope allows. Without “Manage team and invitations”, opening someone else’s reviews shows “You don’t have permission for this.”

Questions

Can I fix a typo in a student’s review?

No. A verified review’s text is never edited. You publish it as it is, hide it, or reply to it.

Why doesn’t the average show?

It shows from 5 verified ratings. Until then you read “The average shows from 5 ratings”.

I hid a negative review: why didn’t the average move?

A hidden review stays in the average so the score is never curated. Hiding only stops the text from showing.

Do WhatsApp screenshots count in the rating?

No. They show as “Screenshot from …”, without a rating, and never enter the average.

Do I choose which students are asked?

No. The request reaches everyone eligible: enrolled for 7 days and 30% through or present at a live, and at most once every 90 days for the same student.

A student wants their review removed: what do I do?

They withdraw it themselves from “My reviews” in their portal, and it disappears everywhere. If it’s a screenshot, delete it from “Screenshots from elsewhere”.
