Wrapping up: attendance, summary, homework and work reviews
A session doesn’t end when the camera turns off: what stays with the learner is what you write afterwards. The “Wrap up the session” panel is short on purpose: did they come? what reaches them? then one send. There you record attendance under the academy’s policy, write the summary or let Noqta draft it from your shared notes, add homework with its date and files, see what the pack used and the recording, and book the next session. Services without an appointment have the “Work review” desk: you comment right on the pictures, assess in words and record a voice note. We follow Salim Bouzid and Amina after the “Private review session” on Tuesday 20 October, then watch photographer Leila Kacimi review Youcef’s portfolio from Oran.
- About 3 minutes per session; a work review takes what the work takes
- 7 steps
Who can do it: Sessions are wrapped up and work reviewed by whoever has “Own bookings” (their own sessions) or “All teachers' bookings”, including people who run another teacher’s calendar. “Let Noqta draft it” is open to whoever wraps up, within 60 drafts a day for the whole academy.
In 7 steps
- 1You open “Wrap up the session” from the room as you end it, or from the booking drawer once the session has started; if you forget, a notification and a line in “Waiting for your decision” remind you.
- 2“Attendance”: “Came”, “Late” or “Didn’t come”; a no-show follows the academy’s policy, or you excuse them and the session comes back as credit.
- 3What reaches the learner you write yourself, or Noqta drafts it from your shared notes only, and you read and edit it.
- 4Homework with a due date, files, and a private note the learner never sees.
Show all
- 5You see what the pack used and the recording if there is one, and book the next session at the same time.
- 6“Send summary and homework” delivers it to “My sessions” with a notification; the learner ticks off homework and says whether the session helped.
- 7“Work review”: comments on the pictures, criteria in words, a voice note, a summary, then “Send the review” before it’s due.
Before you start
- A session that has started or ended, and “Own bookings” or “All teachers' bookings”.
- Notes written in the room in the note the learner sees, or a few sentences you write now: Noqta drafts from those alone.
- For a “Work review”: a service of that kind, and a learner who paid and sent their work.
- Step 1 of 7
When to wrap up, and from where
“Wrap up the session” opens one panel at the side of the screen, from the room or the booking drawer, and nothing leaves it until you decide.
- From the roomConfirming “End session” in the room ends it for both sides and opens the panel straight away, with what you wrote during the session.
- From the booking drawerFrom the moment the session starts, “Wrap up the session” shows in the booking drawer, and for group sessions in the session drawer.
- If you forgetA quarter of an hour after a session ends with no summary sent, you get one notification, and a line stays in “Waiting for your decision” until you send.
TipManel, who runs Salim’s calendar, can wrap up his sessions from the same drawer too, so no summary waits because the teacher is in another session.
All the details
The shortest way is from the room itself: when Salim confirms “End session”, the room closes on both sides and the panel “Wrap up Amina’s session” slides in, with “Tuesday 20 October · 18:00–19:00 · #B-2041” under the title. What he wrote in “Your notes” during the session is there as it was, with the homework, files and the board picture. If he left without ending, or the session was on a fixed link or in person, he opens it from the booking drawer in the “Calendar”: from the moment the session starts, “Wrap up the session” shows there, and becomes the first button once the room is closed; for a group session, in the session drawer. A quarter of an hour after a session ends with no summary sent, Salim gets one notification “Write the summary: Private review session” (within 24 hours of the end; it’s turned off in “Booking settings” › “Notifications” › “Asking you for the summary”). And on “Home”, under “Waiting for your decision”, a line “Notes of one session to write” with a “Write” button opens the “Calendar” on last week’s list.
On screenWrap up the sessionEnd sessionCalendarAsking you for the summaryWaiting for your decisionWriteHeads-upThe panel doesn’t save on its own what you type in it after the room: with unsaved changes it asks before closing. Save with “Send summary and homework” or “Save without sending”.
- Step 2 of 7
“Attendance”
The panel suggests the answer from when the learner entered the room, and tells you before saving what it means for what they paid.
- Came, late, didn’t comeIn a few minutes after the start: “Late” is suggested; never came in: “Didn’t come”. One tap changes it.
- No-shows follow the policyBy default a missed session counts as held; if the academy chose otherwise, the price comes back as credit and the absence is recorded.
- Or excuse themFor a real emergency: the session comes back in full as credit, with no absence on their record.
TipMarked a no-show by mistake? The booking drawer has “Correct: attended” for 48 hours after the session ends.
All the details
The panel opens with “Attendance” and three choices: “Came”, “Late” and “Didn’t come”. The choice comes ready from the room: Amina came in at 18:07, so the panel suggests “Late” and says below “They came in 7 min late. The lateness is noted; nothing changes for payment.”. Had she never come in, it would suggest “Didn’t come” and say what that means under the academy’s policy in “Booking settings”; by default: “Under the academy’s policy the session counts as given: no money or credit comes back, and they are told so.”, and if the academy chose to give the price back: “Under the academy’s policy the price comes back as credit and the absence is recorded.”. With “Didn’t come”, a switch appears: “Excuse them this time: the session comes back as credit and no absence is recorded” — for a power cut in Ouargla, say: “The session is cancelled on your side, its full price comes back as credit and no absence is recorded.”. With a no-show or an excuse, the summary and homework disappear and the button becomes “Save”. In a group session the part becomes the list of seats with a switch for each person, titled “5 of 6 came”; whoever never entered the room starts switched off.
On screenAttendanceCameLateDidn’t comeExcuse them this time: the session comes back as credit and no absence is recordedSaveHeads-upExcusing cancels the session on your side: its full price comes back as credit even when the policy counts no-shows. Keep it for real emergencies.
- Step 3 of 7
What reaches the learner, and “Let Noqta draft it”
Write the summary yourself, or let Noqta draft it from your shared notes only, then read and edit it before anything is sent.
- Only your shared notesNoqta reads the text box and the homework written, never your private note.
- Nothing made upFormulas and numbers stay as you wrote them; a draft with a number you didn’t write is refused and not counted against you.
- 60 drafts a dayFor the whole academy; what’s left shows under the box after each draft.
TipWrite notes the way you’d tell a colleague: “F = m·a: the net force, not the speed. Got the friction sign wrong twice.”. Two honest sentences make a better draft than a general paragraph.
All the details
The second part is titled “What reaches Amina in “My sessions””, with “Only they see it” beside it. One text box, starting with what Salim wrote during the session in the note Amina sees. Above it, the Noqta strip: “Noqta drafts a summary from your shared notes” and the “Let Noqta draft it” button, active once the box has something to draft from (a sentence at least). Noqta reads the box and the homework written below it, and writes, in your dashboard’s language, one sentence on what you worked on, then 2 to 5 points, each one idea from your notes, then the homework line if there is one. Formulas and numbers stay as you wrote them; it adds no explanation, number, name, date or advice that isn’t in your notes, and a draft with a number your notes don’t have is refused before it reaches you. The draft replaces what’s in the box; the strip turns into “Noqta’s draft · read and edit before sending” and the button into “Another draft”. Read it and edit freely: nothing reaches Amina until you press. Under the box, “Your private notes are never used”, and after the first draft what’s left for the academy today: “59 left today”.
On screenOnly they see itLet Noqta draft itAnother draftYour private notes are never usedHeads-upA draft replaces everything in the box, and “Another draft” replaces the draft along with your edits. Edit by hand after the last draft. A failed or refused draft isn’t counted in the 60.
- Step 4 of 7
Homework, files and your private note
Homework with a date the learner sees counting down, files that go out with the summary, and a note only you and whoever runs your calendar read.
- Dated homeworkUp to 20 items, each with its due date, ticked off one by one by the learner.
- FilesA PDF, an image or an audio file, plus the board picture if you attached it in the room.
- A private noteFor what you want to remember next time. The learner doesn’t see it, and Noqta doesn’t read it.
TipWant to explain out loud? The wrap-up has no voice-recording button; record a clip on your phone and attach it with “Attach a file”: audio files are accepted alongside PDFs and images. The “Record a voice note” button lives in the “Work review” desk.
All the details
“Homework” (“Shown with a countdown to its date”): Salim writes “Redo exercises 5 and 6 without looking at the solution”, picks “Due” Friday 23 October, then “Add”. Homework written during the session is already there; he removes what he likes with “Remove homework”. Under the homework, the files: the board picture attached in the room, and what he adds now with “Attach a file” (a PDF, an image or an audio file), such as an “exercises-newton.pdf” sheet. Then the box “Private note Amina doesn’t see” — “Only you and whoever runs your calendar see it.”: “Gets tense when asked about the graph; start with it next time.”. This note stays with the session: you find it every time you reopen its wrap-up.
On screenHomeworkDueAddAttach a fileHeads-upHomework and files only go out with “Send summary and homework”. “Save without sending” keeps them on your side only.
- Step 5 of 7
The pack, the recording and the next session
At the bottom of the panel: what happened to the pack balance, the recording if there is one, and an offer to book the next session at the same time.
- What the pack usedThe panel says how much is left and until when, so you don’t count by hand.
- The recordingShare it with the learner if you like, and keep it past 30 days if you need it.
- The next sessionThe same time next week, whether you’re free then, and a button to book it.
TipBoth switches apply as soon as you flip them, without waiting for the send. If you later switch off “Keep it after 30 days”, the clock goes back to 30 days from the recording, with at least one more day.
All the details
If the session came from a pack, a line “One session of their pack was used” reads “4-session pack · 2 left · valid until 31 December”, with 2/4 at the end. If the session was recorded, you see “Session recording · 52 min” and its state “Ready” or “Processing”, with two switches: “Share the recording with Amina” (“They watch it in “My sessions” and can’t download it”) and “Keep it after 30 days”; otherwise you read “Deleted on 19 November” under it, and once kept “Kept until you delete it”. For sessions whose time is picked from your hours (one-to-one, weekly slot, intro call), the last line offers “Book the next one: Tuesday 18:00”, with “Same day and time next week — you’re free.” or “That time is taken next week; pick a time close to it.”, and the “Book it” button opens the “Calendar” on a new booking for Amina, prefilled with the service and the time: you confirm it while she’s still keen.
On screenOne session of their pack was usedReadyProcessingKeep it after 30 daysKept until you delete itBook itHeads-upAmina only sees the recording if you share it. What is deleted after 30 days is deleted for good, and frees its space in the academy’s storage.
- Step 6 of 7
“Send summary and homework”, and what the learner reads
One press records attendance and sends summary, homework and files to “My sessions” with a notification; the learner ticks off homework and says whether the session helped.
- One notificationThe learner hears their summary and homework are ready, and finds everything on the session’s page in “My sessions”.
- Homework to tickThey tick each item when done, so next session you see where they stand.
- Feedback without stars“Helpful” or “Not helpful”, and an optional line for the teacher.
TipIn a group session the same summary reaches everyone who came (“What reaches the group in “My sessions””), so write it for the group, not for one person.
All the details
At the bottom of the panel, “Send summary and homework” and “Save without sending”, with “They get a notification” beside them. Sending records the attendance you chose, saves what you wrote and sends summary, homework and files together; you read “Sent” and the panel closes. “Save without sending” records attendance and keeps what you wrote for later, and nothing reaches Amina. She gets the notification “Your summary and homework are ready”, and on the session’s page in “My sessions” she reads “The teacher's summary”, the “Homework” with its dates (“before Friday 23 October”) that she ticks off one by one (“1 of 2 left”, then “All done”), and the “Files”. Below, “How was the session?”: “Helpful” or “Not helpful”, “A line for the teacher · optional”, then “Send my feedback”. No stars, no marks. And when Salim opens the room of her next session, “What they wrote” shows what reached her after this one, and “Homework: 1 of 2 done”.
On screenSend summary and homeworkSave without sendingThey get a notificationThe teacher's summaryHomeworkFilesHow was the session?HelpfulNot helpfulHeads-upThe notification goes out once: if you correct the summary after sending, it updates in “My sessions” without a second notification. And nothing empty is sent: you need a summary, homework or a file.
- Step 7 of 7
“Work review”: comment on the work itself, then send before it’s due
A service with no appointment: the learner sends their work after paying, and you answer in a review desk before a promised time.
- A due time set by the queueFrom the work ahead of it and your daily capacity, never later than the promise; the learner sees it from the moment they send.
- A comment in its placeTap a spot on the picture to write what you notice there, and pick up to three pieces as the best.
- Criteria and voiceCriteria in words (“Needs work”, “Good”, “Strong”), no stars, and a voice note of up to 3 minutes.
TipAfter you send, Youcef can ask for the extra review (as many as the service allows) within 14 days, with a line saying what he changed. You see “Second review asked:” and his text at the top, with a new due time of half the promise (24 hours at least), and you answer from the same desk.
All the details
Leila Kacimi sells a “Portfolio review” of the “Work review” kind; in the service she sets “What the learner sends” (images and PDF to start with, up to 20 files), “Answer promised within” (72 h to start with), “Daily capacity” (3 a day) and “Extra reviews after changes” (one). Youcef from Oran pays, then opens his booking in “My sessions” and finds “Send your work for review”: he uploads 6 photos, writes one line “Focus on the side lighting”, and presses “Send 6 files”. The clock starts when the upload is complete, and the due time comes from the queue: after the work ahead of his, at Leila’s daily pace, never later than the promise; Youcef reads “Answer before Friday 23 October 10:00.”. Leila gets the notification “New work to review”, which opens the booking drawer with “Open the review”. The desk has three columns. “The work”: Youcef’s photos as thumbnails and “3 of 6 reviewed”, his line “written with their work”, and “The best” (“Pick up to three pieces to lead their portfolio”). In the middle, the piece large: tap a spot on the picture, write “What do you notice here?” then “Comment”, and a number appears at that spot; with “One of the best”, “Previous” and “Next”; a PDF or a link opens with “Open the file” or “Open the link”. On the other side, the “Criteria”: three to start with (“Basics”, “Craft”, “Impact”), renamed or extended with “Add a criterion”, each with “Needs work”, “Good” or “Strong” and a sentence explaining the level; then “Voice note for piece 2” with “Record a voice note” (“up to 3 minutes”), then “Keep it”; then the “Summary” — “What they read first: where they stand and the next step.”. The draft saves as you type (“Draft saved 16:20”). At the top, “20 h left before it’s due”, which changes colour under 12 hours, then “Past due — send it as soon as you can”. At the bottom, “What they’ll receive” in one line, then “Send the review” and “Confirm sending”: “Review sent. They were notified.”, and the booking is recorded as attended.

- The session roomNotes during the session, the board, and recording with both sides’ consent: the session room lesson.
- Each learner’s recordTheir sessions, what reached them after each one, and their pack balance: the learners lesson.
- No-show policy and notificationsWhat happens to a missed session, the waiting time, and the summary reminder: the booking settings lesson.
- What the learner seesThe summary and homework in “My sessions”, and their feedback on the session.
Questions
Does Noqta read my private note?
No. It reads only the box of what reaches the learner and the homework written; under the box a line reminds you: “Your private notes are never used”.
Does Noqta send the summary to the learner by itself?
No. It puts the draft in the box and writes above it “Noqta’s draft · read and edit before sending”. Nothing reaches the learner until you press “Send summary and homework”.
How many drafts can I ask for a day?
60 a day for the whole academy, shared by its teachers. What’s left shows under the box after each draft, and a failed or refused draft isn’t counted.
I forgot to wrap up a session — is it too late?
No. “Wrap up the session” stays in the booking drawer after the session, a notification reminds you once a quarter of an hour after the end, and the “Notes of one session to write” line stays in “Waiting for your decision” until you send.
I marked a no-show by mistake — how do I fix it?
Open the booking drawer and press “Correct: attended”. The button shows for 48 hours after the session ends.
I corrected the summary after sending — does the learner get a second notification?
No. The notification goes out once; the correction shows in “My sessions” with no new notification.
Can I send a voice note with the summary?
In the wrap-up you attach an audio file with “Attach a file” (accepted alongside PDFs and images). The “Record a voice note” button, up to 3 minutes, is in the “Work review” desk.
