Selling abroad: your store in the buyer’s currency
A customer from the diaspora in France, Canada or the Gulf opens your store and sees its prices in their currency; they buy what can cross a border: a digital file, a course, a subscription, a session, a gift card. They pay by PayPal or bank transfer, and nothing changes for your customers in Algeria. No store-only setting: the prices come from “Selling abroad”, the same tab that sells your courses. In this lesson, Nadia Boukhalfa, a marketing trainer in Algiers, sells the digital “Facebook Ads Guide” at 2,500 DZD and €22 abroad, and the printed “Monthly Planner” at 1,400 DZD, for Algeria only. Rania Meziane buys the guide from Lyon by bank transfer, and Nadia accepts her proof from “Orders”.

Who can do it: Setting prices in “Selling abroad” needs the “Payment settings” permission. Accepting a transfer proof: “Store and products” or “Orders and shipping”, and always the owner.
In 7 steps
- 1Your store’s prices abroad come from “Settings” → “Selling abroad” → “Prices by currency”, the “Store” group.
- 2What doesn’t ship sells abroad; a parcel, a pay-what-you-want price and anything “Not offered” can’t be ordered from there.
- 3On the site, a visitor from abroad sees every price and their cart in their currency, and what isn’t sold to them says so.
- 4“Checkout” from abroad: name, email, optional phone, then PayPal or “Bank transfer”.
Show all
- 5In the student portal: “Confirm the order” in their currency, the amount fixed when they confirm.
- 6They pay from their order page: PayPal directly, or the bank details then “Upload the receipt photo”.
- 7You accept the transfer proof in “Orders” with “Accept the receipt”, or reject it with a reason they read.
Before you start
- An open store with a product that doesn’t ship: a digital file, course, subscription, session or gift card.
- At least one currency in “Selling abroad” with a payment method ready: a bank account in that currency or PayPal connected. The lesson on selling outside Algeria walks through it.
- The “Payment settings” permission for prices, and “Orders and shipping” or “Store and products” to accept transfers.
- Step 1 of 7
Where your store’s prices abroad come from
There is no store-only price screen: open “Settings”, then the “Selling abroad” tab; in the “Prices by currency” card, the “Store” group lists your products, each with its dinar price. Every row starts as “Automatic”: its dinar price converted at the currency’s rate, then rounded, following your dinar price if you change it. Nadia types 22 in the “Facebook Ads Guide” box and it becomes “Custom”, fixed. The switch beside the row stops selling it in that currency: “Not offered”. The printed “Monthly Planner” carries “Ships within Algeria only”. A visitor sees their country’s currency if you sell in it, otherwise your fallback currency from “Countries and languages”, otherwise dinars, as before.
On screenSettingsSelling abroadPrices by currencyStoreAutomaticCustomNot offeredShips within Algeria onlyCountries and languagesTipOptions, licences, gift-card amounts and packs the buyer partly owns are converted at the same rate and rounding. A discount (offer, code, first order) lowers the amount abroad, never raises it.
Heads-upA “Not published” product shows neither abroad nor in Algeria. And a “Custom” price doesn’t follow your dinar price: review it when you raise your prices.
- Step 2 of 7
What sells abroad, and what stays in Algeria
What has no parcel crosses the border: the digital file, course access, the subscription, the session, the gift card and a pack with nothing to ship. The engine refuses three things: anything shipped (no parcel crosses the border, no delivery or cash on delivery abroad), a pay-what-you-want product, and any product set “Not offered” in that currency. On a parcel’s card the site writes “Not shipped outside Algeria”; on a product not offered, “Not available outside Algeria”, and on its page “This product can't be bought from your country right now.”, with no buy button. The “Monthly Planner” stays in Nadia’s store for her customers in Algeria.

An ordinary discount code works.
Heads-upA pack with a single printed part counts as a parcel, so it can’t be ordered from abroad. Make an all-digital pack for your customers abroad if you want one.
- Step 3 of 7
What a visitor from abroad sees on your site
Rania opens Nadia’s store from Lyon: the same cards in the same order, but every price in euros, the old price struck in euros too. On the guide’s page, €22, the “Buy now” button and under it “You pay in your currency by PayPal or bank transfer; it opens as soon as payment is confirmed.”; no delivery line and no “Cash on delivery” badge. The cart counts the “Total” in euros, and under “Payment methods in this store” show “PayPal” and “Bank transfer”, depending on what is ready for that currency. If a parcel is still in her cart, she reads “Your cart holds something shipped within Algeria only: remove it to order from your country.”.

- Step 4 of 7
“Checkout” from abroad
Instead of the wilaya-and-commune form, the page opens with “You're buying from abroad: prices in …, no delivery and no cash on delivery.”, then three fields: “Full name”, “Email (your order is sent there)”, required, and “Phone (optional, any country)”. Below, the order line by line with its total in euros, the discount code, then “Payment method”: “PayPal” (“Card or PayPal balance, instant”) or “Bank transfer” (“We send you the details, then you upload the proof”). The button follows the choice: “Pay … with PayPal” sends her to PayPal and back to her order, “Confirm and see the bank details” records the order and opens its page with the account. Rania picks the transfer.

Check it, then confirm.”.
Heads-upIf her currency has no payment method ready, she reads “Paying from your country isn't available in this store right now. Contact the academy.” and can’t order. A visitor from a country in “Countries you don't sell to” isn’t offered their currency: they see the store in dinars.
- Step 5 of 7
In the student portal: “Confirm the order” in their currency
A student abroad opens “Store” from their account and reads at the top “Prices in your currency (…). Items shipped within Algeria aren’t offered abroad.”, and on what isn’t sold to them “Not available outside Algeria”. Buying opens the “Confirm the order” sheet, with “Paying in …” under its title: what they buy in their currency, their name and email (from their account, editable), an optional phone, then “How you pay” as two cards: “PayPal” “Instant”, and “Bank transfer” “Within 1–2 days”. The button reads “Pay … with PayPal” or “Confirm and pay … by bank transfer”, and under the total “The amount in your currency is fixed when you confirm and won’t change.”. Once confirmed, their order opens among their orders.

- Step 6 of 7
Paying from the order page: PayPal, or the transfer and its proof
Rania’s order page says “Just the payment left to unlock your order”, every amount in euros. If PayPal is ready, a “Pay … with PayPal” button shows (whoever picked PayPal at checkout is sent there by itself); after paying she comes back to the page and the order opens without Nadia doing anything. For the transfer, the “Transfer … to this account” card: “Account holder”, “Bank”, “IBAN” and “SWIFT / BIC” as you wrote them in “Selling abroad” for that currency, “Transfer reference” with the order number, and your extra instructions if any. After transferring €22, Rania taps “Upload the receipt photo” and sends a photo or a PDF; her page then reads “Your receipt is being checked”.

Heads-upThe bank details show only to the order’s holder, and only while it waits for payment. With no bank details for that currency, “Bank transfer” isn’t offered at all.
- Step 7 of 7
Accepting the transfer proof in “Orders”
A bank transfer follows the same path as a receipt: in “Orders”, Rania’s order reads “Receipt to review”. Open its drawer: the “Payment receipt” section with “Waiting for your decision”, and “View” opens what she sent. Match the amount and her name against your statement, then “Accept the receipt”: an order with no parcel closes as “Delivered instantly” and the guide opens for her. Or “Reject”, which asks “Why reject the receipt?”, then “Reject the receipt”: the order goes back to “Awaiting payment”, Rania reads on her page “The earlier proof was refused: …” with your reason, and sends another proof. A PayPal payment confirms itself when the money arrives, without going through you.

Heads-upIn “Orders” the order shows at its dinar value (what reports read), not the amount paid in her currency: €22 isn’t written anywhere in the drawer. To check the transfer, look up the product’s price in “Prices by currency”, or ask her for the amount on the receipt.

Questions
Do my customers in Algeria see anything different?
No. Whoever is in Algeria, or whose country is unknown, sees dinars, the cash-on-delivery form and the Algerian payment methods as before. The foreign currency is for visitors from a country whose currency you sell in, or in your fallback currency.
Why can’t a customer in France order my printed book?
Because shipped goods stay in Algeria: no delivery and no cash on delivery abroad, and its card reads “Not shipped outside Algeria”. Sell a digital version if you can.
Where does my product’s price in euros come from?
From “Prices by currency” in “Selling abroad”: “Automatic”, worked out from your dinar price at the currency’s rate and rounding, or “Custom” if you type a number. Discounts lower it, never raise it.
Do I accept PayPal payments by hand?
No. When the customer pays by PayPal, the order confirms itself and what they bought opens. Only a bank transfer needs “Accept the receipt” in “Orders”.
Is card payment (Stripe) available abroad?
Not in the store for now: abroad, PayPal and bank transfer only.
Does the amount in their currency change if I edit my price after the order?
No. The amount in their currency is fixed when the order is recorded and never moves, even if you change the price or the rate.
