Lives in the school: teachers, approval and broadcasting rules

In a multi-teacher school, every teacher broadcasts their own lives, and management has one page to see them all: “Lives in the school”. It holds each teacher’s numbers, the paid lives waiting for your approval before any ticket is sold, and the rules: who broadcasts, who moderates every live, and whether the director sees everything. At “Al-Ofok Academy”, Salim Bouzid runs the school, Nesrine Haddad’s paid workshop waits for his approval, and Manel Bouazza moderates every live.

  • About 4 minutes
  • 5 steps

Who can do it: The owner and deputies (managing settings or the team) in an academy run as a school. Others read that the page is for management.

In 5 steps

  1. 1“Lives in the school” in the school panel, in three parts: “Teachers”, “Waiting for approval”, “Rules”.
  2. 2“Teachers”: each teacher’s lives, hours, attendance and next live, over 30 days.
  3. 3“Waiting for approval”: a paid live waits for “Approve and publish” or “Send back with a note”.
  4. 4“Who broadcasts and who moderates”: all teachers or those you choose, and school moderators on every live.

  1. 5“Paid lives”: approval, “The director sees everything”, and the school’s share through the store terms.

Before you start

  • An academy run as a school, which you own or deputise for.
  • Teachers with the “Own live classes” permission.
  • The store’s school terms set, if tickets will be sold.
  1. Step 1 of 5

The page and its three parts

In the school panel: the teachers, what waits for your decision, and the rules.

    • TeachersEach teacher’s lives and numbers.
    • Waiting for approvalPaid lives before they go on sale.
    • RulesWho broadcasts, moderators, approval, what the director sees.
    All the details

Lives in the school is a page in the school panel: the teachers’ lives and numbers, what waits for your approval, and the broadcasting rules. Three parts: Teachers, Waiting for approval with the count waiting, and Rules. It opens for the school’s owner and deputies (managing settings or the team); others read that it’s for management. Under “Live settings” › “School”, a link “Open school lives” leads here.

On screenLives in the schoolTeachersWaiting for approvalRulesOpen school lives

Heads-upSomeone with only “All teachers’ live classes” sees the page in the menu, but needs to manage settings or the team to open it.

  2. Step 2 of 5

“Teachers”: each teacher and their numbers

For every teacher who broadcasts: number of lives, hours, attendance and next live, over 30 days.

    • NumbersLives, hours, attendance, over 30 days.
    • NextDay and time, or no live coming.
    • Their scheduleThe name opens that teacher’s schedule.

TipNesrine has no live coming since her workshop: Salim suggests a free live ahead of her next one, as Leila did.

    All the details

Teachers lists everyone allowed to broadcast, with their lives, hours, attendance rate and next live (or none); clicking a name opens their schedule. Below the list: “Numbers cover the last 30 days.”. Those who haven’t broadcast yet don’t appear yet.

On screenTeachersNumbers cover the last 30 days.
  3. Step 3 of 5

“Waiting for approval”: a paid live before it sells

When a teacher schedules a paid live, it stays a draft until you approve its price and date, or send it back with a note.

    • Approve and publishThe live is published, tickets go on sale, the teacher is told.
    • Send back with a noteIt returns as a draft to its teacher with your note.
    • On the teacher’s side“Waiting for the director”, then the send-back with its note.

TipSalim sends Nesrine’s workshop back with a note on the price; she lowers it to 1 000 DZD and publishes again, and he approves.

    All the details

If approval of paid lives is on, every paid live a teacher (not the director) schedules stays a draft and shows in Waiting for approval with its title, teacher, date, length and price; you’re notified. Approve and publish: the live is published and its tickets go on sale. Send back with a note: “Your note to the teacher” (say, about the price), then Send back: the live returns to its teacher with your note. On the live’s page, the teacher reads “Waiting for the director” (no ticket sells before approval), then the send-back with its note, edits and publishes again. With nothing waiting: “Nothing waiting”; if approval is off, the page says so and points to “Rules”.

  4. Step 4 of 5

    “Who broadcasts and who moderates”

All teachers broadcast, or only those you choose; school moderators enter every live as moderators.

    • Who broadcasts“All teachers” or “The ones I choose”.
    • School moderatorsChat, hands, removing the abusive, in every live.
    • Who doesn’t broadcastCan still watch and moderate.

TipManel Bouazza is the school’s moderator: she enters Salim’s, Karim’s and Leila’s lives without being assigned each time.

    All the details

Under Rules, the Who broadcasts and who moderates part (whoever doesn’t broadcast can still watch and moderate). Who broadcasts: “All teachers” (everyone allowed to broadcast) or “The ones I choose” (only certain teachers), whose names you tick; anyone not on the list can’t save a live or a series in their name (the director excepted), and reads that only the teachers the director chose can broadcast. School moderators: they can enter any live in the academy to clear messages, handle hands and remove the abusive; the school moderator shows under “Ready?” on each live’s page. They work in the Dirassa+ room’s studio, so once it opens; on a Meet or Zoom link, the organiser runs the meeting. Any change shows “Unsaved rules” until Save: “Rules saved”.

  5. Step 5 of 5

“Paid lives”, and what the director sees

Your approval before selling, a view of everything, and the school’s share of tickets through the store terms.

    • Approval“A paid live needs your approval”, off by default.
    • The director sees everythingEnters any live, sees every attendance and report; on by default.
    • The sharePer the store’s school terms, on the teacher’s statement.
    All the details

The Paid lives part (tickets sell from the store, and the share is counted there): the A paid live needs your approval switch (no ticket is sold before management approves price and date), off until you turn it on. Then The director sees everything (enters any live as a viewer or moderator, and sees every live’s attendance and reports), on by default. And the commission line: the school’s share of tickets follows the store’s school terms and reaches the teacher’s statement with their other sales, with a “Store terms” button; there’s no separate commission for lives.

On screenPaid livesA paid live needs your approvalThe director sees everythingStore terms

Heads-upThe director still needs one of the two live permissions to open the “Lives” pages themselves (schedule, audience, reports).

Questions

Do all teachers’ lives go through my approval?

No. Approval covers paid lives only, once the switch is on. Free lives and course lives publish directly.

What happens to a live I send back with a note?

It stays a draft; the teacher reads your note on the live’s page, edits and publishes again, and it comes back to you.

Who are “School moderators”?

Members you choose who enter any live in the academy as moderators: chat, hands, removing the abusive, without being assigned each time.

How much does the school take from tickets?

Whatever the store’s school terms say; a ticket is a store product, and the school’s share reaches the teacher’s statement with their other sales.

Can I stop a teacher from broadcasting?

Yes: “Who broadcasts” › “The ones I choose”, and leave them unticked. They can still watch and moderate.
