Send a Dirassa Studio recording to a lesson

Finished and edited your recording in Dirassa Studio? From the export page itself you send it to a Dirassa Plus lesson: pick the course, section and lesson once, and the video is rendered, uploaded and placed in the lesson’s draft — the upload carries on from where it stopped if the connection drops or the app closes. Then you publish the lesson on the web when you want students to see it. The web “Dirassa Studio” page shows your balance, processing minutes and coin activity.

  • About 5 minutes, not counting render and upload
  • 4 steps

Who can do it: Requires Dirassa Studio 0.1.6 or later, signed in to Dirassa+ on this computer, and permission to edit lessons in your role.

In 4 steps

  1. 1In the video editor press “Export”, choose “Dirassa+ lesson” under “Destination”, then the course, section and lesson, or “+ New lesson”.
  2. 2Press “Send to the lesson”: the video is rendered, then uploaded in MB, and carries on from where it stopped after a drop or a close.
  3. 3“The video is in «…» — draft”: open the lesson on the web, then “Publish” and “Publish lesson”.
  4. 4Follow your balance, processing minutes and coin activity in “Dirassa Studio” on the web.

Before you start

  • Sending to a lesson from the app is in Dirassa Studio 0.1.6 and later. If you don’t see “Dirassa+ lesson”, update the app, or upload the file from the lesson editor’s video block.
  • Dirassa Studio 0.1.6 or later, signed in to Dirassa+: without that the “Dirassa+ lesson” destination doesn’t appear.
  • Your recording is ready in the video editor, on an opaque background: cuts made, captions checked.
  • The course and section exist on Dirassa Plus; the lesson itself can be created from the Studio.
  • Enough room in your plan: the video counts toward the academy’s storage, and a file that won’t fit is refused before its upload starts.
  1. Step 1 of 4

Pick the lesson on the export page

In the video editor press “Export”. “Destination” offers three choices: “File”, “Clipboard” and “Dirassa+ lesson”. Choose the last, and the “Where should this lesson be saved?” window asks for the “Course”, then the “Section” (“Choose a unit”), then the “Lesson” (“Choose a lesson”); a lesson that already has a video shows as “… — has video”. Or choose “+ New lesson”, type the “New lesson title”, then “Continue”. The Studio remembers this choice for the recording: above the button you see “To «…»” and “Change”, and below: “It goes into the lesson's draft. Students see it only after you publish the lesson on the web.” The button becomes “Send to the lesson”.

On screenExportDestinationDirassa+ lessonWhere should this lesson be saved?CourseSectionLesson+ New lessonNew lesson titleContinueTo «…»ChangeSend to the lessonLibrary only (unlinked)

TipNot sure yet which lesson the video belongs to? Leave “Course” on “Library only (unlinked)”: the button becomes “Send to Dirassa+”, the video lands in your library, and you pick it later with “From your library” in a video block on the web.

Heads-up“Dirassa+ lesson” takes an MP4 video on an opaque background: it is disabled with a transparent background (“A lesson video needs an opaque background”) and for cursor-only export (“Turn off cursor-only export to send to a lesson”), and GIF is not accepted (“Lessons take MP4 video”).

  2. Step 2 of 4

Send it, and follow the upload

Press “Send to the lesson”. The video is rendered first (“Rendering video” with the frame count), then “Preparing the upload”, then “Uploading to Dirassa+” with a bar and the megabytes (“86.4 / 412 MB”), then “Placing it in the lesson”. Under the bar: “If the app closes during the upload, open Export on this recording again within 6 hours of starting and it carries on from where it stopped. After that, it starts over.” Back in “Export” you find “An upload did not finish” (“To «…» — 21% had arrived.”) with “Continue” or “Discard”. A short network drop resumes on its own; a long one brings the “The video did not reach the lesson” card and “Try again”, which carries on from where it stopped, without rendering again.

On screenSend to the lessonRendering videoPreparing the uploadUploading to Dirassa+Placing it in the lessonCancelAn upload did not finishContinueDiscardThe video did not reach the lessonTry again

Tip“Cancel” during the upload asks first: “Stop the upload? What has been sent so far is discarded.” If you confirm, or choose “Discard”, the unfinished upload is removed from Dirassa+ and its space goes back to your plan.

Heads-upDon’t delete the exported file or change the recording before an unfinished upload completes: “The exported file changed or is gone, so the upload cannot continue. Send it again.” And when storage is full the send is refused before it starts: “Your workspace's storage is full. Free up space or upgrade the plan on the web, then send it again.”

  3. Step 3 of 4

The video is in the draft: publish on the web

When it arrives: “The video is in «…» — draft”, then “Dirassa+ is preparing it for playback… 34%” and “This carries on on the server — you can close the app.”, then “Ready to watch. Publish the lesson on the web when you want students to see it.” The video fills the draft’s first empty video block, or is added at the end. “Open the lesson on the web” opens the lesson editor in your browser. There, a new lesson’s state is “Draft”: press “Publish”, then “Publish lesson”. A published lesson shows “Update”, then “Update the published version”. On success: “Published — students can see it now.” No need to wait for the processing: a video that is still processing doesn’t stop the publish, and students see “The video is being prepared” in its place until it’s ready.

On screenThe video is in «…» — draftDirassa+ is preparing it for playback… N%Open the lesson on the webDraftPublishPublish lessonUpdateUpdate the published versionPreview as a student

TipThen send the same lesson its questions (“Publish to a lesson” in “Quizzes”) and its map (“Publish to Dirassa+” in “Knowledge map”): their seconds point into this recording.

Heads-up“That lesson or its section no longer exists — it may have been deleted on the web. The video is already uploaded; choose another lesson for it.” — press “Choose another lesson”; the video is not uploaded again. If the card says “Dirassa+ could not process this video. Open the lesson on the web and replace it.”, press “Upload it again” in the video block on the web, under “This video failed to process — it won't reach students.”; the lesson won’t publish while it’s there.

  4. Step 4 of 4

Follow the Studio from the “Dirassa Studio” page

On the web open “Dirassa Studio” (/dashboard/studio): “Your lesson creation workspace · linked to your institution”. Four tabs: “Overview”, “Subscriptions”, “Coins” and “Downloads & devices”. The “Overview” has three figures: “Coin balance” (“Shared workspace balance”), “Processing minutes left” in the current calendar month, and “Current Studio plan” with its coins. Then “Coin activity” over the last 30 days, one bar per day, switched between “Balance deductions” and “Balance additions”, with a “Day” to pick for its figure. The “Audio & video processing” card shows how much of the month’s allowance is used, and below it the Studio’s three toolsets: “Record & edit”, “Prepare lessons” and “AI tools”.

TipThe “Coins” tab has “Service prices” and the “Coin ledger” (“Latest 100 entries”): the date, type and coin count of every entry.

Heads-upThe page doesn’t show your recordings or projects: “Local projects and recordings stay in the desktop app. These analytics cover cloud services and the wallet.” After working in the Studio, press “Refresh” to see the new figure.

Questions

I don’t see “Dirassa+ lesson” under “Destination” — why?

It appears when Dirassa Studio 0.1.6 or later is signed in to Dirassa+ on this computer. Sign in from the Studio, then open “Export” again. If it is greyed out, the recording has a transparent background or is a cursor-only export.

Do students see the video as soon as it arrives?

No. It goes into the lesson’s draft; students get it when you press “Publish lesson” on the web, or “Update the published version” if the lesson was already live.

What if the internet drops or the app closes during the upload?

A short drop resumes on its own. A long one brings “The video did not reach the lesson” and “Try again”, which carries on from where it stopped. If the app closes, open “Export” on this recording within 6 hours of the upload starting and press “Continue” in “An upload did not finish”; after that it starts over.

Can I close the app once the video has arrived?

Yes. When you read “The video is in «…» — draft”, the video is in the lesson, and “This carries on on the server — you can close the app.”

Does sending cost coins?

No. Neither sending, uploading nor publishing spends a coin; the video counts toward your plan’s storage. Coins pay for the Studio’s smart services, such as the knowledge map at 2 coins per lesson and questions at 1 coin per 20.

I’d rather upload from the browser — can I?

Yes. Choose “File” under “Destination”, then “Export to File”; on the web open the lesson, then “Add content”, “Video” and “Upload a video”. You see “Uploading…”, then “Processing…”, then “Ready” — but don’t close the page during “Uploading…”, or the upload starts over.

I re-recorded the lesson — how do I swap the video?

Send the new recording to the same lesson: a new video block is added to the draft when there is no empty one, so delete the old one in the lesson editor, or use “Replace” in its block, then “Update the published version”.

What are “Processing minutes left”?

A monthly allowance for audio and video processing in the Studio, counted over the current calendar month and separate from academy storage. Its size comes from the Studio plan: 4 hours on “بداية”, 8 on “منشئ”, 12 on “أستاذ” and 40 on “مدرسة”.
