The Dirassa+ guide
Lives

A free live with registration, or a paid workshop: its page, registration and reminders

A public live opens to people outside your academy: a page on your site with a countdown, what attendees will learn and who explains, a registration with name, phone and email, or a ticket paid with your store’s methods. After registering, visitors add it to their calendar, get the reminders and come in through the same link when it starts. Leila Kacemi, a photography trainer, offers “Start photography with your phone” for free and 312 people register; Nesrine Haddad sells the “Reels in an hour” workshop at 1,200 DZD. The same road works for a physics teacher opening a trial class. Today, while the Dirassa+ room isn’t open, the live runs on your Google Meet or Zoom link: its page says “On Google Meet — the link reaches you before it starts”, and the join button shows to registrants and buyers a quarter of an hour before; no recording from us on a link.

  • About 4 minutes
  • 5 steps

Who can do it: Whoever schedules the live (“Own live classes” or “All teachers’ live classes”). A ticket needs payment methods enabled in the store.

In 5 steps

  1. 1The live’s page on your academy site: countdown, what you’ll learn, what to have ready, who explains, and one link that becomes the waiting room, the live, then the replay.
  2. 2Three-field registration and “Register for free”; then calendar, reminders and “Invite a friend”.
  3. 3“Workshop ticket”: “Buy the ticket” opens checkout in your store, and the ticket lands in the buyer’s account.
  4. 4Reminders: a day, an hour, 10 minutes before, when it starts and when the replay is ready, on the phone and by email.

  1. 5Share the link, and show your lives in the “Coming lives” section of your site and on the course page.

Before you start

  • A published “Free live” or “Paid live” (or a series by registration or ticket).
  • A description and what attendees will learn under “More” › “Description”: that’s what convinces people to register.
  • For a ticket: payment methods enabled in your store.
  1. Step 1 of 5

The live’s page: one link for everything

On your academy site, what it shows changes with time: registration, the waiting room, the live, the replay.

    • Before the startCountdown, what you’ll learn, who explains, and the register or ticket button.
    • Two clocksAlgiers time, and the visitor’s own if they’re abroad.
    • For youYou see it as visitors do, with “Open the studio”.
    All the details

Every free or paid live has a page on your academy site (‎/live/…). Before the start: its kind, where it happens (from the browser or the academy’s app, or on Google Meet with the link sent before), the cover, title and summary, the date in Algiers time and the length, and for a visitor abroad their own time. Then the Starts in countdown, What you'll learn (“What you'll leave with” for a ticket), What to have ready, About this live and Who explains. The registration count shows from 20. This same link becomes the waiting room a quarter of an hour before for those who registered, then the live, then the replay. You see the page as visitors do, with a note that you’re presenting this live and “Open the studio”.

Heads-upA live class for a course, or a live for academy students or invitees only, has no public page: an outsider is asked to sign in, and whoever isn’t allowed doesn’t find it.

  2. Step 2 of 5

Registration: three fields, then the calendar

Name, phone and email, and “Register for free”; then calendar, reminders and inviting a friend.

    • Three fieldsName, phone (+213 or international), email.
    • CalendarGoogle Calendar, iPhone Calendar, Outlook.
    • Invite a friendCopies the link or opens the phone’s share sheet.

TipWhen the number of places you set is reached, visitors read “Full”.

    All the details

The registration card: “Name” (at least two letters), “Phone” (an Algerian number starting 05, 06 or 07, or an international one starting with +), “Email” (for reminders and the join link); account holders see the button alone. Then Register for free, with the four reminders listed below and “Your phone and email are used only for this live's reminders.”. If the live is on air: “Live now — register and join”. After registering: Registered and the date, Add to calendar (“Google Calendar”, “iPhone Calendar”, “Outlook”), We'll remind you with the reminder switches, Invite a friend and Cancel my registration. A visitor without an account is recognised by their browser: they should open the live from the device they registered on. Every registrant shows up in the live page’s invitees on your side.

  3. Step 3 of 5

“Workshop ticket”: sold from your store

Price, reminders and replay on one card; payment with your store’s methods, the ticket in the buyer’s account.

    • Buy the ticketOpens checkout in your academy’s store.
    • With an accountThe ticket lands in their academy account, which they join with.
    • Replay includedPer the replay window: always, 7 or 30 days.

TipPayment runs through the store’s own engine: a BaridiMob receipt is checked and confirmed like any store order, and the money reaches your account.

    All the details

A paid live has the Workshop ticket card (the series ticket for a series): the price, the workshop live with your questions on air, the replay line (in your account to keep, or for 7 or 30 days) and a reminder a day and an hour before. Buy the ticket opens your academy store’s checkout: buyers pay with the methods it accepts, and the ticket goes to their account. The order needs an account (“The ticket goes to your account at the academy.”, with “Have an account? Sign in”). Once paid, the buyer is registered for the live, you’re notified, and their card becomes “Your ticket is confirmed” with calendar and reminders. If you set a number of tickets, what’s left shows once 20 or fewer remain, then “Sold out”. Before sales open: “Tickets aren't on sale yet”.

Heads-upBuyers can’t cancel their ticket from the page; and if you cancel the live, nothing is refunded automatically: refund it from the store’s orders.

  4. Step 4 of 5

Reminders: on the phone and by email

A day, an hour and 10 minutes before, when it starts, and when the replay is ready.

    • On the phoneFor account holders: a notice in the platform and on the phone.
    • By emailFor registrants: a day, an hour before and at the start, with the link.
    • From abroad“It's early where you are”: an hour before, or don’t wake me.

TipYacine in Montreal registers for Leila’s live: 19:00 in Algiers is 14:00 for him; he sees his own time with Algiers time beneath.

    All the details

The live sends by itself: A day before (only on the day before the date), An hour before, 10 minutes before, When it starts (with the join link) and When the replay is ready. Account holders get them as a notice in the platform and on the phone; those who registered with an email get an email with the join link a day before, an hour before and at the start, and the replay one if they didn’t watch at least 10 minutes live. (“10 minutes before” is a phone notice only.) No day-before reminder goes to someone who registered less than 20 hours ahead. Each registrant turns off what they don’t want; you choose what goes out under “More” › “Reminders” for one live, or in the settings for the academy (with “By email too”). A visitor for whom the time falls at night (between midnight and 7 am on their clock) sees It's early where you are with two choices: “Remind me an hour before” or “Don't wake me” (the day before and the replay only).

  5. Step 5 of 5

Share the link, and show your lives on your site

One link to post where your audience finds you, and a site section that shows what’s coming on its own.

    • Student link“Copy student link” from Home or the live’s page.
    • “Coming lives”A site section: up to 6 cards with register and buy buttons.
    • On the course page“A live coming up in this course” for those deciding to join.

TipLeila posts her free live’s link on Instagram a week before and puts “Coming lives” under her site’s opening section: visitors see Nesrine’s workshop right beside it.

    All the details

Copy student link sits on the next-live card and in the live page’s readiness (the sign-up page, to share wherever your audience finds you). In your site editor, the Coming lives section shows your upcoming free and paid lives and series (up to 6 cards, live ones first), each with its date, kind, price or “Free”, and its button (register, register for the series, buy the ticket, join); it hides itself from visitors when nothing is coming. On a course’s page on your site, the A live coming up in this course card with “Join the course to attend”. In showcases, the live dates section shows the course’s lives. Registrants appear among the live page’s invitees, attendees in “Audience”.

Questions

Does a visitor need an account to register for a free live?

No. They give name, phone and email and are recognised by their browser; they should open the live from the same device. A ticket does need an account, since it goes to their academy account.

When does the registration count show?

From 20 registrations up. Before that, no number shows.

Do reminders go out by email?

Yes, to those who registered with an email: a day, an hour before and at the start, with the join link, and the replay one for those who missed it. “10 minutes before” is a phone notice for account holders only.

How does a buyer pay for the ticket?

With the payment methods enabled in your store, on the same checkout. Once paid, they’re registered for the live automatically and you’re notified.

Can a visitor get in without registering?

No. A free live is for registrants, a paid one for buyers. If it’s already on air, they register and get in straight away.
