The certificate for students: a goal they see, a name they confirm, a moment they celebrate

The certificate doesn’t wait for the course to end to appear: the student sees it from day one on their course page, in their name, with what’s left. It becomes a goal to finish for, not a surprise at the end. In this lesson we follow Amina, Mourad’s calligraphy student: she sees her certificate waiting, confirms her name, finishes the last lesson and reads “Congratulations, Amina!”, then adds her certificate to LinkedIn. Understand what your students see so you can explain it in class or in a message.

  • About 5 minutes
  • 4 steps

Who can do it: For everyone who creates certificates. What this lesson describes, the student sees in their portal, on phone and computer.

In 4 steps

  1. 1On the course page: “This course’s certificate” in the student’s name, and what’s left: two lessons, the exam, the papers closing.
  2. 2Before issue: “This is how your name will be written”, once, in Arabic, Latin letters and the right wording.
  3. 3After the last lesson: “Congratulations, Amina!” with PDF, story and sharing.
  4. 4“My certificates”: every certificate, with number, verification link, PDF and LinkedIn, and the “Private certificate” option.

Before you start

  • Activate a certificate on a course with students: the goal doesn’t show on the course page before activation.
  • Try the portal with a test student account if you want to see it with your own eyes.
  1. Step 1 of 4

The certificate as a goal on the course page

A card on the course page: the certificate’s image in the student’s name, its conditions, and exactly what’s left.

    • “Your certificate awaits”The certificate’s image in their name, as it will be issued.
    • Conditions tickedLessons “12 of 14”, the exam passed or awaiting results.
    • “Still to go…”Two lessons and the exam, or the papers to close so the rank can be counted.

TipMention the certificate in the first class: “Look at the bottom of the course page, your certificate is waiting, in your name”. A visible goal gets courses finished.

    All the details

On the page of every course with an active certificate, the certificate card: its image in the student’s name with the “Your certificate awaits” badge, a heading saying what’s left (or “This course’s certificate” if they haven’t started), and a sentence by mode — “Your certificate will be issued automatically, in your name, as in the image.”, or “Once you meet the conditions, your teacher reviews it and then it’s issued.”, or “Your teacher grants it personally when you finish.”. Below, the conditions with their ticks: lessons (12 of 14), the exam (passed, “Awaiting results”…), the average (a paper awaiting results, “once the papers close”). The heading is the line that matters: “Still to go: …”. The card changes with them: “You’ve met every condition”, “Confirm your name to get your certificate”, “Your certificate is awaiting your teacher’s approval”, then “Your certificate is issued” with “Download the PDF certificate” and “Open my certificate”.

  2. Step 2 of 4

“This is how your name will be written”: once

Before issue the student confirms their name in Arabic and Latin letters and the certificate’s wording; Noqta suggests the Latin spelling.

    • Arabic and Latin“Name in Arabic” and “Name in Latin letters”, as on their ID card.
    • Noqta writes the Latin“Noqta wrote it from your name, the way it’s spelled in Algeria.” They can change it.
    • The wording“Feminine · She completed” or “Masculine · He completed”: the whole sentence agrees.

TipKeep name confirmation on: most certificate mistakes are names, and fixing them before issue is easier than reissuing.

    All the details

If name confirmation is on, the student sees “This is how your name will be written” (“Just once. After issue, only your teacher can correct it.”): “Name in Arabic”, “Name in Latin letters” already written by Noqta (with “No” if they want another), and the wording: “Feminine · She completed” or “Masculine · He completed”. The card warns them if they type a single word, all capitals, or Arabic letters in the Latin box. Then “Confirm the name and issue my certificate”. They’re asked once: later certificates reuse the same name.

  3. Step 3 of 4

    The completion moment

When the student finishes the last lesson and meets the conditions, their screen opens on “Congratulations” and their certificate.

    • “Congratulations, Amina!”“You completed …”, with what she achieved: lessons, and the exam with her mark.
    • Download and share“Download the PDF certificate”, “Story” and “Share”.
    • NotificationIf it goes out later (after your approval or the papers closing), a notification arrives.

TipEvery share carries the verification link on your academy’s domain: a published certificate is an honest ad for your course.

    All the details

After the last lesson, if the certificate is issued, the “Congratulations, …!” moment appears: “You completed “Arabic calligraphy””, with a line on what she achieved — lessons, and the exam with her mark. If their name still awaits confirmation, “This is how your name will be written” opens first, then the moment. Then “Download the PDF certificate”, “Story” (a vertical image for the phone’s status) and “Share”. If it awaits your approval or the papers closing, there’s no moment now: a notification arrives when it’s issued, and the course card turns to “Your certificate is issued”.

  4. Step 4 of 4

    “My certificates”

All the student’s certificates in one place, and a page per certificate with number, link and ways to share.

    • Printable PDFAt the sheet’s real size, plus “Image to post” and “Story”.
    • LinkedIn“Add to LinkedIn”: LinkedIn fills in the name, issuer, date and link.
    • “Private certificate”Anyone verifying sees it’s issued and valid, without the name or details.

TipProfessional training? Remind students of “Add to LinkedIn”: every addition names your academy and links to the verification page.

    All the details

In the portal, “My certificates”: a summary, and for each certificate “Download PDF” and “Share link”, or its state: “Awaiting your name confirmation”, “Awaiting your teacher’s approval”. A certificate’s page: “Certificate number”, “Verification link”, “Printable PDF · A4”, “Image to post”, “Story” and “Add to LinkedIn”. And the “Private certificate” switch: anyone verifying it sees that it’s issued and valid, without their name or its details. When the student opens the verification page signed in, they read “This is your certificate”.

Questions

The student doesn’t see the certificate in their course

Check that the certificate is active and its source is this course (or their group). A draft doesn’t show to students.

The student confirmed a wrong name

After issue only the teacher corrects it: “Register” → “Correct the name” → “Save and reissue”.

The student has no Latin name

Noqta suggests the usual Algerian spelling; they can change it or leave it empty. Empty, the Latin name isn’t printed.

Why does the student read that it waits for the papers to close?

Their certificate prints the rank, which is only counted once every counted paper is closed. Close them from each paper’s page.

Does the student need an app?

No: everything is in your academy’s portal, on phone and computer. If they install it as an app, notifications reach them.
