Showcases

Edit your showcase from your phone: all under your thumb

On a phone the editor opens your page at your screen’s real width, with the tools under your thumb: a bar at the top, a bar at the bottom that changes with what you select, and one sheet every tool opens in. This lesson covers them all, with Amine, a fitness coach who sells 1:1 sessions and edits his page between two of them.

  • A few minutes per edit
  • 7 steps

Who can do it: People with “Edit showcases”. Publishing needs “Publish showcases”.

In 7 steps

  1. 1The top bar: ✕, the name, status and save state, “Preview over time”, “Undo”, and “Publish” with the number of blockers.
  2. 2With nothing selected, the bottom bar: “Sections”, “Identity”, “+”, “Page” and “Noqta” (which asks about the whole page).
  3. 3Tap a section: its bar rises and the page stays in view: its name and layout with ↑ ↓, ⋯ and “Done”, then its layouts on one line, then “Content”, “Shape” and “Noqta”.
  4. 4“Content” and “Shape” are the computer’s tabs; they raise the sheet to half the screen. Tone, parts and spacing are in “Shape”.

  1. 5⋯ “More”: where the section shows, “Duplicate”, “Save to My sections”, “Add a section below”, lock, delete.
  2. 6Double-tap any text to write on it, small text and link labels too: “Bold”, “Highlight”, “Link”, “Rephrase”, then “Done”, and ‹ › for the previous and next text.
  3. 7Every tool in one sheet from the bottom, which grows and shrinks, and closes with ✕, a swipe down or the back button.

Before you start

  • A showcase in “Showcases”. If you have none, create one with “New showcase”.
  • The “Edit showcases” permission.
  • A connection to publish and preview. Editing itself keeps going offline and is kept on the phone.
  1. Step 1 of 7

The top bar on a phone

One row at the top tells you how your page and its saving stand, with the publish button and the number of blockers.

    • The real pageBelow 640 px: your page at your phone’s real width, with no frame and no scaling.
    • Is it saved?Under the name, in short words: “Draft” · “Saved”, or “Offline · kept here”.
    • “Publish”It carries a red number with the count of blockers, and then opens “Ready?” instead of publishing.

TipThere is no “Redo” button on the phone, to save room: if you undid too much, open “More” → “Search a command or a section…” and type “Redo”.

    All the details

In “Showcases”, open the showcase and then “Edit showcase”. Below 640 px the editor fills the screen, and the page in it is your page at your phone’s real width, with no frame and no scaling. The top bar is one row: ✕ to go back, then the showcase’s name (tap it to rename) and, under it, its status and save state in short words, such as “Draft” · “Saved”, or “Offline · kept here” if the connection drops. Then the “Preview over time” icon if the showcase has an offer, then “Undo”, then “Publish”: it carries a red number with the count of blockers and then opens the “Ready?” panel instead of publishing. When you select a section its name becomes the bar’s title, and while you write the bar becomes “Editing text” with “Done”.

  2. Step 2 of 7

The bottom bar before you select

Before you select a section, five buttons under your thumb reach every tool for the page.

    • “Sections” and “Add”The page’s order as a list to move sections, and the section library.
    • “Offer” and “Theme”What the showcase sells and for how much, and colours and fonts.
    • “More”“Page”, “Preview”, “Versions”, “Share”, and “Search a command or a section…” in Arabic, French or English.
    All the details

At the bottom, five buttons under your thumb: “Sections” (the page’s order as a list, to move sections and reach them), “Add” (the section library), “Offer” (what the showcase sells and for how much), “Theme” (colours and fonts) and “More”: “Page” for its settings, “Preview”, which opens the draft in a tab as visitors will see it, “Versions”, “Share” and “Search a command or a section…” to reach any tool by typing its name, in Arabic, French or English. On a tablet it also holds “Keyboard shortcuts”.

  3. Step 3 of 7

Tap a section: the section bar

A tap on a section raises its bar at the bottom of the screen, and the page stays in front of you.

    • The section barIts name and layout, its layouts on one line, then “Content”, “Shape” and “Noqta”.
    • The computer’s words“Content” and “Shape” are the section panel’s two tabs on a computer, holding the same things.
    • To deselect“Done”, or tap outside the sections. The page header, footer and buy bar open the page settings.

TipA section whose tag says “waiting for data” is not visible to visitors yet: something is missing in your data, like a dated live or sessions in the offer.

    All the details

Tap any section once: a frame surrounds it with its name above, and the section bar rises at the bottom of the screen while the page stays in front of you. First comes the section’s name and layout (such as “Poster · 2 of 6”), then two arrows to move it up or down, ⋯ (“More”) and “Done”. Under it, the section’s layouts on one line: tap one and the section wears it on the page, or swipe sideways on the section itself. Last, three buttons: “Content” (all its texts, images and lists) and “Shape” (its tone, layouts, parts, settings and spacing), the section panel’s two tabs on a computer, which raise the sheet to half the screen on that tab; and “Noqta”, to ask her for this section’s text. Drag the grip to make the sheet taller, or to bring it back to the bar. To deselect, tap “Done” or the page outside the sections. The page header, footer and buy bar are not sections: tapping them opens the page settings.

  4. Step 4 of 7

    “Tone” and “Order”

You change a section’s background with one tap, and move it a step at a time or straight to its place.

    • “Tone”“Automatic” for one rhythm, or “Base” or “Soft”, and “Inverse” or “Accent” when the section accepts them.
    • “Order”“Move up” and “Move down” a step at a time, or “Move to…” a position from a numbered list.
    • Locked section? It doesn’t move or change tone until you unlock it.

TipTo reorder a whole page, “Sections” in the bottom bar is faster: drag a row by its handle after a short press, or use its arrows.

    All the details

“Tone” opens a list of section backgrounds from your theme, each with its swatch: “Automatic” (the editor alternates it to keep one rhythm), “Base”, “Soft”, and “Inverse” or “Accent” only for the sections that accept them. “Order” (or “More” when “Noqta” is in the bar) offers “Move up” and “Move down” one step at a time, and “Move to…” with a numbered list of the page’s sections to pick the position, plus “Back” if you change your mind. A locked section does not move or change tone until you unlock it.

  5. Step 5 of 7

“More”: where the section shows, and its other actions

⋯ in the section bar gathers what you rarely do, and at its top, where it shows.

    • Where does it show?“Everywhere”, “On desktop only”, “On phone only” or “Hidden from visitors”: one choice.
    • “Lock”So it can’t change by mistake; “Unlock” opens it again. With “Duplicate” and “Delete”, then “Undo”.
    • Hidden it?It stays faded in the editor and comes back from the same “More”: “Everywhere”.
    All the details

Tap “More” (⋯) in the section bar. At the top of the menu, “Where does the section show?” and four choices: “Everywhere”, “On desktop only”, “On phone only” and “Hidden from visitors”, to keep it in the draft without anyone seeing it. Under them: “Duplicate” (when the page takes a second copy of it), “Save to My sections”, “Add a section below”, “Lock” (or “Unlock”) so it doesn’t change by mistake, and “Delete”. After a delete, a notice offers “Undo”.

Heads-upA hidden section stays faded in the editor so you can find it: bring it back from “More” with “Everywhere”.

  6. Step 6 of 7

    Write in place, and “Rephrase”

You write over any text of yours where it stands, even a small line or a link’s label.

    • The writing bar“Bold”, “Highlight”, “Link”, “Rephrase” and “Done”. Pasting arrives as plain text with Latin digits.
    • Small text?It grows to 16 px while you write so the screen doesn’t zoom, then returns to its size.
    • “Rephrase”Noqta proposes another phrasing of this text in place for one request; the button stops when none are left today.
    All the details

Double-tap any text in the section to write over it, even a small line or a link’s label: the top bar says where you are writing (such as “Writing in “Opening · Headline””), and in which language when the page has several, with two arrows, “Previous text” and “Next text”, to move between the section’s texts without closing the keyboard. Small text grows to 16 px while you write, so the screen doesn’t zoom, then returns to its size. Above the keyboard, a small bar: “Bold”, “Highlight” (in your theme’s highlight colour) and “Link” when the field takes them, then “Rephrase”, the character count near the limit, and “Done”. Pasting arrives as plain text with Latin digits. “Rephrase” saves what you wrote and asks Noqta for another phrasing of this text alone, one of today’s requests: she proposes it in place and you choose “Accept” or “Dismiss”. Prices and numbers are not typed: they are read from your data and update themselves. Words that come from your data or the platform, such as a course title, tell you so when you double-tap them, with a “Content” button for what you write yourself.

    On screenBoldHighlightLinkRephraseDonePrevious textNext textAcceptDismissContent

Heads-upThe text is saved when you press “Done”, move to another text or leave it; each text is one undo step. If “Rephrase” doesn’t appear, the section is locked, its texts all come from your data, or Noqta isn’t available right now.

  7. Step 7 of 7

    One sheet for every tool

Every tool opens in one sheet from the bottom, so windows never pile up over your page.

    • One sheetOpening another tool replaces its content. “Properties” and “Ready?” open at about half the screen so the section stays in view.
    • It grows by itselfWhen you type in a field, or when you tap its handle.
    • Closing itWith ✕, a swipe down, or your phone’s back button.

TipEvery change saves itself within seconds, and also on the phone: if the network drops you keep going, and if the app closes before saving, the editor offers “Restore” the next time you open it.

    All the details

Every tool opens in one sheet from the bottom, and a sheet never opens over another: opening another tool replaces its content. The picked section raises its bar and the page stays in view; “Content” and “Shape” raise it to half the screen. “Identity” opens at half the screen too, so you see your page change above it as you choose, and the page scrolls to what changes: the opening for the colour and the type, the light sections for the greys. “Add a section”, “Page settings” and “Publish” fill the screen. Drag the sheet’s handle to make it taller or shorter; it grows by itself when you type in a field. Close it with “Done” or ✕, a swipe down, or your phone’s back button. Picking a section in “Sections” closes the sheet and takes you there. On a landscape tablet (768 px and up), the sheet moves to the side.

Questions

Do I need a computer for anything?

No. Every editor tool is on the phone: sections, theme, offer, settings, versions and publishing. A computer adds two panels side by side, the device switch for previews and keyboard shortcuts.

Why can’t I find “Redo”?

The phone’s top bar only carries “Undo”. To redo a step you undid, open “More”, then “Search a command or a section…”, and type “Redo”.

I deleted a section by mistake. How do I get it back?

Tap “Undo” in the notice after the delete, or “Undo” at the top. You can also restore a whole version from “More”, then “Versions”.

Can I write on small text?

Yes: double-tap it. It grows to 16 px while you write so the screen doesn’t zoom, then returns to its size on the page. A link’s label is written in place too; where it goes is in “Content”.

How often can I ask Noqta?

Your workspace has 200 requests a day; each section or text Noqta writes counts as one, and they come back at midnight Algiers time. Once used up, you read “No requests left today. They come back at midnight.”.

What if I edit the showcase from two devices?

One device edits at a time: the other reads, knows who is editing, and can “Take over”. Two tabs in the same browser: the second is read-only, with “Edit here”.

Long press opens nothing. Why?

It works by touch, on a section: press for half a second without moving your finger; if you move, the page scrolls. “More” in the bottom bar opens the same menu.
