Digital products and their protection: from upload to “Who leaked?”
A digital product is a file delivered the moment payment clears, in “My library”, each buyer getting a copy in their own name. In this lesson Mehdi Ouali, a video editor, sets up two products: “Colour grading LUT pack”, a file to download, and his e-book “Editing on your phone”, read inside the platform with the buyer's name on every page. We go through the files and their delivery types, the sample, versions, the protection levels and what they really do, then the “Digital protection” page: when a page of the book turns up in a Telegram group, Mehdi uses “Who leaked?” to find whose copy it was — or learns, plainly, when that cannot be known.
- About 15 minutes for the product and its protection, a few minutes per leak search
- 9 steps
Who can do it: Setting up and protecting a digital product needs “Store and products”; in a school's store, whoever has “Sell their products in the school store” sets up their own products. The “Digital protection” page and all its actions (search, warning, suspension, extra downloads) are for “Store and products” only.
In 9 steps
- 1“Products” → “New product” → “Digital product”, then “Files”: each file has its delivery type.
- 2A “Free sample” from a PDF's pages (for a video, a short separate clip), licences at different prices, and “This product's numbers” once published.
- 3After a sale, a new file is a draft in “Versions”, published free to buyers.
- 4“Protection”: light, balanced or strict, and what each switch really does.
Show all
- 5“Digital protection” → “Report and settings”: default level, watermark and terms of use.
- 6The buyer reads, downloads and manages devices in “My library”; the reader writes their name on every page.
- 7“Access and devices” and the order: warn, devices, extra downloads, suspend and restore.
- 8“Who leaked?”: upload what you found, type the phone or the code; no name without a match.
- 9“Leaks”: warning letter, suspension, takedown request and the decision log.
Before you start
- Digital is paid before delivery: “Cash on delivery” does not apply, so have the BaridiMob receipt or card payment set up in your store.
- Your files ready: a PDF for anything read inside the platform (the reader opens PDFs only), a ZIP for packs, and the video already uploaded to your academy.
- Decide what each file is worth: a small file at a small price can take light protection; what you sell most dearly deserves strict.
- Step 1 of 9
“Files”: what the buyer gets, and how
In “Products”, click “New product”, pick “Digital product”, then “Create the draft: …”. In “Files”, drop your file or choose it from your device (PDF, video, audio, ZIP, up to 200 MB); it arrives as “Download” (“A watermarked download”), and the list beside it turns it into “Protected reading” (“Read inside the portal”, for PDFs). The “Or add:” buttons add a “Video” picked from your academy's videos, watched “Inside the portal only”, a “Link” or a “Quiz” that open after payment, and a “Licence key” (“One key per buyer”). For a PDF, fill in the “Number of pages”: the sample is built from it. An incomplete file carries a red pill saying what is missing (“Upload the file”, “Pick the video”…). Mehdi Ouali uploads “Colour grading LUT pack”, a ZIP as “Download”, and his book “Editing on your phone”, a PDF as “Protected reading”.
On screenProductsNew productDigital productCreate the draft: …FilesDownloadProtected readingVideoLinkQuizLicence keyOr add:Number of pagesKey poolTipWith “Licence key” comes the “Key pool” section: paste the keys (“One key per line · duplicates and blanks are skipped”), then “Add …”. One key goes to each buyer as soon as they pay; they see it in “My library” with “Copy”, and “Delete the ones not handed out” never touches keys already handed out.
Heads-upA “Link” passes the access check, then opens the address itself; beyond it the platform protects nothing — no watermark, no fingerprint, no limit — and protection is up to the site hosting it. Whatever deserves protection, make it “Download” or “Protected reading”.
- Step 2 of 9
The free sample, the licence and the price, the product's numbers
Switch on “Free sample” (“Visitors browse it before buying”): for a PDF, pages 1 to 4 are suggested and you change the range; “Shown without download, marked «Sample», ending with the buy button.” Samples are PDF pages only: for a video, the editor says it itself, “For a video sample, upload a short clip as a separate file and say in the description that it is free.” The product page has no video-sample player; if you want visitors to watch that short clip before buying, publish it as its own product at 0 DZD, whose button becomes “Get it free”. A ZIP like the LUT pack has no sample: Mehdi shows before-and-after grading images in “Photos”. Then “Licence and price”: one price for personal use, or “Add licences at different prices”, which creates “Personal” at the product's price and “For a teacher's class” at three times it; you can also add “For institutions” or “Your own licence”. Each licence's name is yours to write, and “The first one is the price shown first.”; the buyer picks a licence on the product page and it is recorded on their copy. Mehdi shows pages 1 to 4 of his book and sells it at 1,600 DZD “Personal” and 4,800 DZD with a licence he named “Training centres”.

A draft has no such block.
Heads-upThe product's “Licence text” is saved with it, but what the buyer reads and accepts at checkout today is the store-wide “Terms of use” in “Digital protection” (the fifth step below). Write your terms there.
- Step 3 of 9
“Versions”: a free update for buyers, never a silent swap
Once the product has a buyer, the file's button becomes “Upload a new version”: the new file becomes a draft version, and buyers keep the current one until you publish it. In “Versions” (“Free for buyers”), the draft shows what changed; write “What's new” (“Shown to buyers as you write it”), then click “Publish the update to buyers · …”. The “Publish version …” panel shows “To whom” (everyone who bought it, every licence), “Phone notification and email” marked “Coming soon”, the “«Update» badge in «My library»” “Always”, and a preview of the message; then “Publish to … buyers”. Every buyer with an account whose access is still running gets a notification inside the platform; their card shows “Version … is free for you” with your notes, and “The new download does not count against the buyer's downloads.”. Mehdi adds a chapter to “Editing on your phone” and publishes it to everyone who bought it; if you change your mind first: “Discard the draft”.
On screenUpload a new versionVersionsFree for buyersWhat's newPublish the update to buyers · …Publish version …Phone notification and emailComing soon«Update» badge in «My library»Publish to … buyersDiscard the draftPublishedTipAfter publishing, the notice reads “Version … published; it reached … buyers in «My library».”: that number counts those who got the notification inside the platform. Buyers without an account get no notice yet; they see the “Update” badge when they open their order page.
Heads-upBefore the first sale, “Replace the file” swaps it directly, with no version. Once someone owns it there is no silent swap: every change is a version, and no button withdraws a published one.
- Step 4 of 9
“Protection”: three levels, and what each switch really does
The “Protection” section starts as “Follows the store setting”: it follows the “Default level” in “Digital protection” until you pick a level for this product, and each level shows “Buyer experience”, “Leak difficulty” and “The trade-off:”. All three write a visible watermark and a fingerprint: “Light”, unlimited downloads and devices; “Balanced” (“Default”), 5 downloads and 2 devices; “Strict”, no download at all, reading inside the portal only on 2 devices with “One active session” (“Opening it on one device closes it on the other”). The visible watermark is written on PDF pages only; images and ZIPs carry the fingerprint in their metadata only. In “Switches in detail” you change the “Number of downloads”, the “Device limit” (0 = unlimited), “Read inside the portal only”, which turns downloads off entirely, the “Visible watermark” and the “Hidden fingerprint per buyer”; any change makes it “Custom · …”, and “Follow the store setting” takes it back. Mehdi sets the LUT pack to “Light”, given its small price, and the book to “Strict”: a “Protected reading” file never downloads at any level, and strict adds the 2-device limit and the single session.
On screenProtectionFollows the store settingLightBalancedDefaultStrictSwitches in detailNumber of downloadsDevice limitOne active sessionRead inside the portal onlyBlock copying and printing in the fileDownload link lifetimeCustom · …TipA device here is a browser: a phone with two browsers counts as two, and clearing the browser's data makes it a new device. The same browser counts as one device on every dirassaplus.com address; your own domain counts separately. That is why a 2-device limit is kinder than 1.
Heads-upPlainly: “Block copying and printing in the file” is not written into the downloaded PDF today, as the “Digital protection” page says itself; the protected reader has no print button anyway. “Download link lifetime” is saved but changes nothing yet: every click on “Download” passes the check again and the copy is written on the spot; a file that is not a PDF, a ZIP or an image (or is too large to mark) leaves through a signed link valid for 15 minutes, with the copy's code in its name.
- Step 5 of 9
“Digital protection”: default level, watermark and terms of use
In the column, open “Digital protection”: the “Protection” page has four tabs, the first being “Report and settings” with its figures (“Copies issued in their buyer's name”, “Leaks with a known source”…). The “Default level” applies to every new digital product; “Existing products keep their own setting.” unless you click “Apply to existing products (…)…”. The “Watermark” is one for the whole store: the “Watermark text” with buttons for the name, phone, order number and date, its position “Diagonal”, “Footer” and “Page corners” (they can be combined), the “Visibility” (“Suggested 15–25%”), the size, the colour and the “Licence page at the front of the file”, with a live preview on “Sample data”. Then the “Terms of use” the buyer accepts before paying, the “Legal reference” that cites Ordinance No. 03-05 in letters, and “Money on a leak”: “No refund”, “Partial refund” or “Decide each time” — a suggestion that is logged, never carried out on its own. Nothing is kept until “Save” in the bottom bar.
On screenDigital protectionReport and settingsDefault levelApply to existing products (…)…WatermarkWatermark textDiagonalFooterPage cornersVisibilityLicence page at the front of the fileTerms of useMoney on a leakSaveTipUnder the preview sits the line “In the downloaded file, the watermark is written like this:”. The downloaded PDF carries only digits and Latin letters: the phone, the order number, the date, and the name if it is written in Latin letters, because the file writer does not draw Arabic yet. The Arabic name is drawn over every page in the protected reader; the licence page at the front of the file is written in English and French, and Arabic terms are not printed on it.
Heads-upRead, on the same page, “What cannot be prevented — plainly”: a screenshot, another phone's camera, rewriting and re-saving. Nothing here prevents a leak; the promise is threefold: that leaking costs something, that every copy points to its owner, and that you can act within minutes.
- Step 6 of 9
What the buyer sees: “My library” and the protected reader
After payment the copy arrives in “My library” in the student portal (“Your files, subscriptions and gift cards, in your name.”); a buyer without an account finds the same card on their order page. Each file has its button: “Read here” for any PDF, “Download” for a download file, “Watch” for a video, “Open” for a link, “Copy” for a key. Below them, “Downloads” “… of …” and “Reading here does not count as a download”; whoever has used them all sees “Ask for an extra download”, in “Your devices” they free a place with “Remove” without writing to you, and “Update” marks the product when a new version arrives. The reader shows pages as images with no text to copy, writes the copy owner's name and phone with the session time over every page, and explains it in “How this file is protected”; leave the page and “Reading paused” appears, and when a single-session product opens on another device, “Reading closed here” with “Read here again”. Video plays in a player with no download button, with the buyer's phone and first name moving to a new spot every 20 seconds.
On screenMy libraryRead hereDownloadWatchDownloadsAsk for an extra downloadYour devicesRemoveUpdateHow this file is protectedReading pausedReading closed hereRead here againTipThe product's “Access period” (“Forever”, “Days”, “Until a date”) shows on the card as “Lifetime access” or “Available until …”. Once it ends, what the buyer downloaded stays on their device, reading and video close, and “Renew access” appears.
Heads-upThe reader deters; it does not lock, and it tells the buyer so itself: a screenshot and another phone's camera remain possible, and the stamped file reaches the browser's memory to be drawn. Its value to you: every capture carries the owner's name and phone, and the time.
- Step 7 of 9
“Access and devices”, and the digital part of the order
The “Access and devices” tab gathers what needs a look over the last 30 days, with the count on the tab. “Possible sharing” (“Two cities in the same minute”): the same copy opened from two devices in two different cities within two minutes; “Send them a warning” reaches them as a notification inside the platform if they have an account, otherwise the message shows for you to send yourself on WhatsApp. “Refused devices”: who hit their device limit, with their registered devices and a “Remove” for each. “Asked for an extra download”: who used up their downloads and asked for more; “Grant two downloads” adds two and lets them know. The rule is written on the page: “Never an automatic suspension”. From the order itself, the “Digital part” section shows each copy, its state, the “Copy fingerprint” and its downloads, with “+2 downloads” (when the copy has a limit), “Suspend” and “Restore”.
On screenAccess and devicesPossible sharingTwo cities in the same minuteSend them a warningRefused devicesRemoveAsked for an extra downloadGrant two downloadsNever an automatic suspensionDigital partCopy fingerprint+2 downloadsSuspendRestoreTipThe city is approximate: many mobile networks in Algeria show up as the capital. So the tab never alerts for one unusual city, only for two different cities within the same two minutes.
Heads-up“Suspend” in the order closes this one product for this buyer at once, and they get a notification if they have an account. It refunds nothing: a refund is a separate decision, in the order. “Restore” gives access back as it was.
- Step 8 of 9
“Who leaked?”: a page of the book on Telegram
Mehdi finds a page of “Editing on your phone” in a Telegram group: a screenshot of the reader. He clicks “Who leaked?” at the top of the page and uploads it in “Upload what you found” (a PDF, an image or a ZIP up to 60 MB, “Visible to you only”). A screenshot has no metadata, so in “The number or code visible on the page” he types what he reads with his own eyes — the phone written over the page, and the tiny code in two of its corners, like #A-1048·7C2F9A0B, if the screenshot is sharp enough; under the field appears what was read: “Phone”, “Order”, “Fingerprint”. He pastes the post's link in “Where did you find it?”, which works out the platform, then “Find the copy's owner”. “The copy of …” appears with its proofs: the fingerprint is the code of this copy alone, hence “Certain match · …”; the phone alone gives “Matched by phone” — it points to the buyer, who may hold several copies — and the order number alone “Matched by order”. With nothing matching: “Not enough to name anyone”, with “Request removal anyway”.
On screenWho leaked?Upload what you foundThe number or code visible on the pagePhoneOrderFingerprintWhere did you find it?Find the copy's ownerThe copy of …Certain match · …Matched by phoneMatched by orderNot enough to name anyoneRequest removal anywayTipWhat it reads on its own: a PDF's fingerprint in its metadata, an image's or a ZIP's in theirs, when the file is forwarded as it was downloaded. It does not read images automatically and never guesses from what a page looks like: what is drawn on the page, you type. No name without a match to a copy your store issued; if the phone or the order points to several copies, pick the published product with “This one”, and a single result is logged as an incident at once (“Logged in incident #…”).
Heads-upWhat points to nobody: a screenshot with the phone and both codes cropped or covered, a page that was retyped, a file re-saved or re-zipped that lost its metadata and shows nothing on its pages. The LUT pack carries no mark on its files: its fingerprint is only in the ZIP comment and the downloaded file's name; re-zipped and renamed, nothing is left. Video has no fingerprint: what remains is the phone moving over it in a screen recording — a “Matched by phone”, no more.
- Step 9 of 9
“Leaks”: one file per incident, and the takedown request ready
Every logged search becomes an incident in “Leaks”, with its number, platform and status. Open “Incident …”: the link, the source, “View what was found”, then the actions in order of weight: “Download a ready warning letter” (a file you print or save as PDF from the browser), “Send them a warning” and “Suspend their access”, which acts at once from the incident. From the “Who leaked?” card, suspending asks first in “Suspend …'s access”: only this product closes, the buyer gets a notification with the reason and their order number, and their links stop at once; then “Suspend access”, undone with “Restore access”. The “Takedown request” is written in advance for Telegram or Facebook, with its address and how to send it: “Copy the text”, then “Mark as “sent””. The three buttons of “Money on a leak” (“No refund”, “Partial refund”, “Full refund”) go into the “Decision log” without moving any money; when the post disappears, click “Post removed”. Mehdi sends a warning first, and suspends access only if the post comes back.

It is a date you see on the page, not a notification; and removal is the platform's decision, not ours: it may not happen.
Heads-upThe letter and the takedown request cite Ordinance No. 03-05 as it stands, without interpreting it, as long as “Cite the reference in letters and takedown requests” is on. This is not legal advice, and Dirassa Plus is not a party to any dispute: for legal action, consult a lawyer.

Questions
Does protection stop screenshots?
No. A web page can neither stop a screenshot nor know it happened, nor stop another phone's camera. That is why the protected reader writes the copy owner's name, phone and the session time on every page: every capture points to its owner.
Is the buyer's Arabic name written inside the downloaded PDF?
Not yet. The downloaded file carries only digits and Latin letters: phone, order number, date and fingerprint, and the name if it is written in Latin letters, because the file writer does not draw Arabic yet. The Arabic name is drawn over every page in the protected reader.
I found my file published and “Who leaked?” named nobody — why?
Because the file was re-saved or re-zipped and lost its metadata, because the screenshot shows neither the phone nor the tiny code, or because what you typed matches no copy issued by your store. The tool does not guess: no name without a match to a copy that was really issued. You still have “Request removal anyway”.
Is a buyer who shares their account suspended automatically?
Never. “Access and devices” tells you when a copy opens in two different cities within the same two minutes, and you decide: a warning first, suspension if it happens again. Every decision is logged in the name of whoever made it.
A buyer changed phones and hit the device limit — what do I do?
Usually nothing: they remove the old device themselves in “Your devices”, in “My library”. If they write to you, you find them under “Refused devices” and remove the old device with “Remove”.
I tightened protection after selling — do the copies already bought change?
Mostly, yes: the device limit, reading only, the single session and the watermark apply to everyone from their next opening or download, as the section says: “Applies to new copies and at the next download”. A limited number of downloads, though, stays as it was on each copy at purchase; you raise it with “Grant two downloads” or “+2 downloads”.
Can the buyer print the book?
In the protected reader there is no print button, and printing the page from the browser gives a blank page. In a downloaded PDF, though, we cannot turn printing off yet, even with “Block copying and printing in the file”. To keep it from being printed, make it “Protected reading” or “Strict”.
