# The “My day” page: start with three priorities and a clear list

> “My day” is the first page of “Organization”, built for one question: what do I do now? It holds four numbers about your tasks, three slots for the three tasks that matter most today, a field that adds a task in a second, the list of what is assigned to you for today and what is overdue, and on the side your appointments, bookings and live classes for the next seven days. Everything on it is yours: nobody sees your priorities, and your tasks don’t mix with the team’s. The example: Monday 5 October in the morning at Sara Makhloufi’s, video-editing trainer at “En-Nadjah Academy”, while the team prepares the launch of the “Video colour grading” course. The same page serves a marketing coach juggling campaigns and calls, or a teacher between marking and revision classes.

- Time: About 5 minutes to read
- Who can do it: Anyone with the “Tasks” permission (owner, “Admin”, “Teacher” and “Assistant” by default). The page shows each person their own tasks.

## In short
1. Four numbers about your tasks: “Open”, “Overdue”, “No date” and “Done today”; the first three open their list.
2. Three priorities for the day: tap the target beside a task to put it in a slot; the slots empty every morning.
3. Quick add: type in “What do you want to accomplish?” then “Add” or Enter, and a task for today is created.
4. The “Today’s tasks” list: what is assigned to you for today, due or overdue; a task’s circle completes it in one tap.
5. On the side, “Upcoming appointments”: the next five appointments, bookings and live classes within seven days.

## Before you start
- The “Tasks” permission, part of every base role.
- The right time zone in “Organization settings” (Algiers time by default): it sets what “today” is and when a task becomes overdue.
- Tasks with a “Planned work date” or a “Deadline”: a task with no date never enters “Today’s tasks”.

## The steps

### 1. The four numbers
Under the date and the title “My day”, four numbers, all about the tasks assigned to you, not the team’s: “Open” — every task not completed, cancelled or archived. “Overdue” — open with its deadline passed: the day is before today, or the time has gone by; the number turns red. “No date” — open with neither a “Planned work date” nor a “Deadline”. “Done today” — what you completed since midnight; the number turns green. Press one of the first three and the “Tasks” page opens on the same list — “Open tasks”, “Overdue tasks” or “Tasks with no date” — filtered to “My tasks”, with the same count. On Monday morning Sara sees: 6 open, 1 overdue (“Export the trailer clip”, due 4 October), 2 with no date, 0 done today.
On screen: «My day»، «Open»، «Overdue»، «No date»، «Done today»، «Open tasks»، «Overdue tasks»، «Tasks with no date»، «My tasks»
Tip: “No date” is an ideas box that grows quietly. Once a week, open it and give each task a “Planned work date”, or archive it.
Heads-up: “Done today” isn’t a link and goes back to zero at midnight in your time zone. Reopening a completed task takes it out of the count.

### 2. Three priorities for the day
The “Today’s priorities” part, with its “0/3” counter, first reads: “Pick up to three tasks to start your day: tap the target beside a task in “Today’s tasks”.” Beside every task in “Today’s tasks” sits the target: tap it and choose “Priority 1”, “Priority 2” or “Priority 3”; the task moves up into its slot and the target carries its number. A slot left unfilled shows “Empty slot”. Choosing a taken slot moves the previous task out and puts the new one in, and “No priority” sends the task back to the list. Priorities are yours alone and for this day alone: colleagues don’t see them, and tomorrow morning the slots start empty. Sara puts “Export the trailer clip” first, then “Review the colour lesson”: 2/3.
On screen: «Today’s priorities»، «Priority 1»، «Priority 2»، «Priority 3»، «No priority»، «Empty slot»
Tip: Put first the task that, done alone, would make the day a success. Three slots, no more, on purpose.
Heads-up: The target exists only on “My day”, and only beside a task in “Today’s tasks”. To prioritise a task with no date, set its “Planned work date” to today first.

### 3. Add a task in a second
The “What do you want to accomplish?” field under the numbers: type the title and press “Add” or Enter. The task lands in “Today’s tasks” at once with these values: “Planned work date” today, assigned to you, “Private”, priority “Normal”, status “Not started”; no deadline and no reminder. To add details, tap its title and its panel opens. For a task you want to fill in completely from the start — deadline, reminder, plan — use “New task” at the top of the page: the panel opens with the “Planned work date” set to today, then “Create task”. During a call Karim types “Call Yacine about the CCP receipt”, presses Enter, and goes back to the caller.
On screen: «What do you want to accomplish?»، «Add»، «Planned work date»، «Private»، «Normal»، «Not started»، «New task»، «Create task»
Tip: Quick add catches the thought before it slips; details come after. Start the title with a verb: “Film the lesson 3 intro” is clearer than “Lesson 3”.
Heads-up: A quick task has no deadline: no reminder, and it will never be “Overdue”. If it isn’t done today, it leaves “Today’s tasks” tomorrow and stays in “Tasks”. Give it a “Deadline” when its date must not be missed.

### 4. The “Today’s tasks” list
It gathers your open tasks whose “Planned work date” is today, whose deadline is today or earlier — so an overdue task stays here until it is done — or that you picked as a priority today. Its counter covers what sits under the priorities, most recently updated first. On each row, the circle at the start tells the status — empty “Not started”, with a dot “In progress”, dashed “Waiting” — and tapping it completes the task: it fills with a tick, the task leaves the list and “Done today” goes up. Under the title: the deadline (“Today 14:00” or “Oct 4”, red when it has passed), the status unless it is “Not started”, a flag for “High” and “Urgent”, and the plan’s name or a padlock for a private task. Tap the title to open the panel. The page shows 50 tasks, then “Next”. When the list is empty: “Nothing is waiting on you”. Sara uploads the trailer and taps its circle: “Overdue” drops to 0 and “Done today” becomes 1.
On screen: «Today’s tasks»، «Not started»، «In progress»، «Waiting»، «Completed»، «High»، «Urgent»، «Next»، «Nothing is waiting on you»
Tip: Tapped the circle by mistake? The task is in “Tasks” under “All”, marked “Completed”: tap its circle there and it goes back to “Not started”.
Heads-up: A task with an unfinished prerequisite won’t complete from the circle; the message reads: “Complete the prerequisites first. Open task details to review them.”

### 5. Upcoming appointments
On the side of the page (under the list on a phone), “Upcoming appointments” shows the five next unfinished items on your calendar within seven days — organization “Appointment” items (work time included), “One-to-one booking” items named after the student, and “Live class” items. Tasks don’t appear here. Each row gives the start time and “Today” or the short day (“Thu, Oct 8”), and “Live now” for a class in progress. Tap an organization appointment and its panel opens in place; a booking takes you to “Bookings”, a class to its page. The “Calendar” link in the header opens the full calendar. When nothing is coming: “No appointments in the next 7 days.” and a “New appointment” button. At Sara’s: the weekly review live right now, Rania Cherif’s booking at 16:30, the team meeting on Wednesday at 10:00 and the “Video colour grading” class on Thursday at 18:00.
On screen: «Upcoming appointments»، «Appointment»، «One-to-one booking»، «Live class»، «Live now»، «Calendar»، «New appointment»، «Work time»
Tip: Block time for a big task: a “New appointment” of type “Work time” (“Edit lesson 4”, Tuesday 09:00–11:00) shows up here and guards your two hours before messages fill them.
Heads-up: This part shows what the calendar shows you: your bookings (or all of them, with permission to manage them), the workspace’s live classes for whoever can host, and the organization appointments open to you. Cancelled and finished items don’t appear.

## Once your day is in order
- Give tasks deadlines: A “Deadline” with a time turns on the reminder and makes lateness show in “Overdue”.
- Organize the full list: “Tasks” with filters, saved views and the “Board”.
- Gather your appointments: “Calendar” for everything, and “New appointment” for a call or work time.
- Set your reminders: “Organization settings”: the default reminder and quiet hours.

## Questions

**Why do I see 1 overdue here and more in “Tasks”?**
The “My day” numbers count only the tasks assigned to you. The number opens the list filtered to “My tasks”, with the same count; switch “Assignee” to “All owners” to see everyone’s overdue work that you are allowed to see.

**I picked priorities yesterday — where did they go?**
Priorities last one day: every morning the slots start empty. The tasks themselves haven’t changed, and those still in “Today’s tasks” can be picked again with the target.

**A task planned for yesterday and not done vanished from “Today’s tasks” — why?**
The “Planned work date” is a plan, not a deadline: once it passes, the task isn’t overdue and doesn’t stay in “Today’s tasks”. You’ll find it in “Tasks” under “Open”. Change its planned date, or give it a “Deadline” so it stays in front of you until done.

**Do colleagues see my priorities and private tasks?**
Nobody else sees your priorities. A “Private” task is visible only to its creator and its assignee. A “Shared” task is visible to holders of “See all shared tasks” and to members of its plan.

**A colleague assigned me a task — does it show here?**
Yes if its planned date or deadline is today or earlier, and it counts in your numbers from the moment it is assigned. You also get the notification “A task was assigned to you”.

**Does the page update by itself?**
No. Press “Refresh” (the two arrows at the top of the page) to see what colleagues changed; each of your own saves refreshes it too.

**Why don’t my dated tasks show in “Upcoming appointments”?**
That part is for appointments, bookings and classes; tasks live in the list. To see both together, open “Calendar”: dated tasks appear there with the type “Task”.

**What does the page look like on a phone?**
The numbers sit in two rows of two, the list comes under the priorities, and “Upcoming appointments” below it. The “New task” button shrinks to “+”, and the page description is hidden to save space.
