# Quality and the log: what your students live through, and who did what

> The “Quality and reports” page gives your teachers no score and no ranking: it says what students live through with each one — how long they wait for a reply, how many papers wait to be graded, a live cancelled or late, low ratings, a course whose lessons stopped — and puts the fix next to each signal. The “Log” writes every change in the school as a sentence, with who and when, and is never edited or deleted. In this lesson Mourad Belkacem sees at Al Ofok Academy that questions from Karim Haddad’s students are past the deadline, assigns them to the assistant Yacine Mansouri, then finds the assignment in the log. The same page serves a training centre following its trainers, or a design and editing academy.

- Time: About 5 minutes a week
- Who can do it: “Quality and reports” opens with the permission to view the team. “Assign” needs “Assign students’ questions”. “Open” takes you to support, grading or lives if you hold that permission, otherwise to the teacher’s page. The “Log” is for whoever can read it: the director, and roles that were granted it.

## In short
1. “Quality and reports”: the period (7, 30, 90 days) and one sentence saying how many alerts, and how many break the reply deadline.
2. Five numbers: reply time, open questions, late ones, papers waiting, lesson ratings.
3. “Needs attention”: ordered by the effect on students, each with “Open” or “Assign”.
4. “Questions past the deadline”: select, “Assign to…”, to whom and for how long.
5. “Teachers”: the table of signals, by need or by name.
6. “Log”: every change is a sentence that starts with who did it, days as headings.
7. Filters: person, type, date, and search over what’s loaded.
8. An entry: who, what, when in Algiers time, what was recorded with it, and a link to copy.

## Before you start
- Set the “Reply time” in the “School rules” (“Communication and support”): every delay is measured against it.
- Have someone on the team who can answer students (an assistant or support), or there is nobody to assign questions to.

## The steps

### 1. Open “Quality and reports”
“School” → “Quality and reports”. At the top, “Last 30 days · since September 9”, the “Period”: “7 days”, “30 days”, “90 days”, and the “Activity log” button. Under the title, one sentence sums up: “3 alerts, one of them breaking the “reply within 24 hours” rule.”. A breach is a question past the “Reply time” you set in the “School rules”. When all is well: “Nothing needs your attention right now. Every number is within the school’s rules.”. The page gives no score and ranks nobody as best: it says what each teacher’s students live through.
On screen: «Quality and reports»، «Period»، «7 days»، «30 days»، «90 days»، «Activity log»
Tip: Before the weekly team meeting, choose “7 days”: you see only what happened since the last one.

### 2. Five numbers a student lives through
Under the header, five numbers: “Average reply time” (“Your rule: within 24 hours”), “Open questions” (“With 2 teachers”), “Past the deadline” (“All with one teacher”, “All outside courses” or “No question past the deadline”), “Papers waiting to be graded” and “Lesson ratings” (“4.6 out of 5 · from 38 ratings”). Each has its window: “Reply time covers questions from the last 30 days; open questions and grading are what is waiting now; the rest follows the chosen period.”. So changing the period doesn’t change what is waiting now — it changes ratings, lives and new lessons.
On screen: «Average reply time»، «Open questions»، «Past the deadline»، «Papers waiting to be graded»، «Lesson ratings»
Tip: The average reply time is the mean of the teachers’ own averages: one slow teacher pulls it up a lot. See who in the table at the bottom.

### 3. “Needs attention”: what weighs on students first
The “Needs attention” block, “Ordered by the effect on students”, gathers five kinds of signal: questions unanswered past the deadline (“3 questions unanswered for more than 24 hours” · Karim Haddad · 2 courses · “oldest 2 days ago”), papers waiting to be graded (“12 papers waiting to be graded” · “Samia Benamor 8, Nadia Meziani 4”), a live cancelled or started more than 10 minutes late (“One planned live was cancelled” · “3 of 4 held”), low ratings (two ratings of 2 or less, or an average of 3.5 or less from 3 ratings up) and a stalled course (a teacher with active students and no new lesson for 30 days: “No new lesson for 34 days”). Each line has “Open”: to support, grading or lives if you hold that permission, otherwise to the teacher’s page. Late questions also have “Assign”.
On screen: «Needs attention»، «Ordered by the effect on students»، «Open»، «Assign»
Tip: When things are calm: “Every question was answered in time”, with the slowest average reply and the rule, and “Show the teachers”.

### 4. Assign the late questions
The “Questions past the deadline” block (“Oldest first”): one question per line with its subject, course and age, and “Open” for the conversation. Select questions or “Select every question”, then “Assign to…” (or “Assign” from “Needs attention”). “Assign 3 questions” opens: “To whom?”, the list of people who can answer, each with their load (“Open questions: 2 · Papers waiting: 0”), or “Give them back to the course’s teacher”. Then “For how long?”: “Until answered”, “A day”, “3 days”, “A week”. “This assigns only the selected questions; nobody’s role changes. The assignment is recorded in the activity log.”. Press “Assign 3 questions to Yacine Mansouri”: he gets “Student questions were assigned to you”, and you read “3 questions assigned to Yacine Mansouri. A notification was sent.” and “The assignment is in the activity log.”.
On screen: «Questions past the deadline»، «Select every question»، «Assign to…»، «To whom?»، «Give them back to the course’s teacher»، «For how long?»، «Until answered»، «A day»، «3 days»، «A week»
Tip: A one-week assignment suits a teacher on leave: afterwards the questions go back to the course’s teacher without you having to remember.
Heads-up: Nobody in the list? “Nobody else on the team can answer students yet.”: give a member the “Reply to support” permission from the staff page. A question outside your scope doesn’t change, and you’re told so after assigning.

### 5. The “Teachers” table
At the bottom, the “Teachers” table and its “Order”: “Needs a look first” or “Name”. The columns: “Reply time” (“31 h”, with “rule 24 h” under it when it’s over), “Open” (“5” and “3 late”, or “all late”), “To grade”, “Rating”, “New lessons” (“last 3 days ago”) and “Lives” (“4 of 4”, “1 cancelled”, “1 late”, “next October 14” or “no lives”). The legend underneath: “Rule broken: reply after 24 hours” and “Live cancelled or started late”. Click a name to open their page on the “Quality” tab. In a big school: “Show all teachers”.
On screen: «Teachers»، «Order»، «Needs a look first»، «Name»، «Reply time»، «Open»، «To grade»، «Rating»، «New lessons»، «Lives»، «Show all teachers»
Tip: The table is for talking with a teacher, not judging them: open their page together, they see the same numbers you do.

### 6. The “Log”: every change, as a sentence
From the “Activity log” button in “Quality and reports”, or “School” → “Log”: “Everything that changed in the school, who did it and when · never edited, never deleted”. Days are headings (“Today · Friday, October 9”, “3 entries”), each entry one line: the time, the actor’s photo, and the sentence starting with their name: “Mourad Belkacem assigned 3 student questions to Yacine Mansouri”, “Mourad Belkacem recorded a payment of 84,000 DZD to Samia Benamor”, “Mourad Belkacem closed statement #12 for Samia Benamor” with “Net 84,000 DZD” under it, “Karim Haddad updated their payout account”. When a value changes, before and after sit in one chip, and every entry carries its type (“Money”, “Team”…). What the school does automatically is credited to “The school”, someone who left to “Former member”. Fifty entries at a time, then “Load more” down to “This is the first thing recorded”.
On screen: «Log»، «Today»، «Yesterday»، «Load more»، «This is the first thing recorded»
Tip: The log records closes, payments, disputes, contracts, roles, rules and assignments: it’s the first page to open when a teacher asks “who changed this?”.

### 7. Filters: who, what, when
Above the log: “Person” (“Everyone” or one member), “Type”: “All”, “Team”, “Money”, “Content”, “Rules”, “Permissions”; and “Date”: “All time”, “Last 7 days”, “Last 30 days”, “This month” or “Other dates” with “From” and “To”. Each filter reads the server again. “Search the log” searches only the entries loaded (“Searching the entries loaded. Load more to search further back.”). No result? “No entries with these filters” and “Clear filters”. From the staff page, on a member’s sheet, “Open their activity in the log” opens the log on that person (/dashboard/school/activity?actor=…).
On screen: «Person»، «Everyone»، «Type»، «All»، «Team»، «Money»، «Content»، «Rules»، «Permissions»، «Date»، «All time»، «Last 7 days»، «Last 30 days»، «This month»، «Other dates»، «Search the log»، «Clear filters»، «Open their activity in the log»
Tip: The whole statements month? “Money” with “This month”: closes, payments, disputes and payout accounts on one page.

### 8. One entry, in full
Click an entry and its panel opens, titled by the sentence itself, with the time, type and number under it (“Money · Entry 1,284”). Then “By” (or “Automatic entry, no person”), “What happened” and “When”, “Algiers time”; “Before” and “After” when it’s a change; and “Recorded with it”: whatever belongs to that entry (“Statement no. 12”, “Net”, “Period”, “Amount”…). At the bottom, “An entry is never edited or deleted, not even by the owner.”. And “Copy link to entry” (“Link copied”): the link opens the log on that very entry (?entry=1284), to send to whoever needs to see it.
On screen: «By»، «What happened»، «When»، «Algiers time»، «Before»، «After»، «Recorded with it»، «Copy link to entry»، «Link copied»
Tip: A disagreement over a payment? Send the teacher the link to the “recorded a payment” entry: the date, the amount and who entered it, as written that day.

## Next

## Questions

**Does “Quality and reports” give each teacher a score?**
No. No score and no ranking of the best: signals about what students live through, and only the “Needs a look first” order.

**What counts as a “breach”?**
A question unanswered past the school’s “Reply time”, or a teacher whose average reply is slower than it.

**Does the assistant’s role change when I assign them questions?**
No. “This assigns only the selected questions; nobody’s role changes.” And the assignment is recorded in the log.

**Can I delete an entry from the log?**
No, not even the owner: “An entry is never edited or deleted, not even by the owner.”

**Why can’t search find an old entry?**
It searches the entries loaded. Press “Load more”, or narrow with “Date” and “Type”, then search.

**When does a live count as late?**
When it starts more than 10 minutes after its time. Cancelled lives are counted separately, with “… of … held”.
