# Series and Q&A hours: one rule makes the dates

> When a live comes back every week you don’t schedule it one by one: you write a rule (“every Friday 16:00, eight episodes”), the dates appear, you name each episode, and students register once for all of them, with a reminder before each. Two kinds: a **series**, a programme with a number of episodes, and a **Q&A hour**, an open-ended weekly slot. Salim Bouzid builds “Bac without fear” in 8 Friday episodes; Karim Zerrouki and Wafa Sellami open the English Q&A hour every Sunday at 18:00. The same way works for a photography trainer running a 4-week photo challenge.

- Time: About 4 minutes
- Who can do it: “Own live classes” for their series; “All teachers’ live classes” for those in their scope.

## In short
1. “Series and programmes”: each series with its rule, episodes, next date and registrants; “New series” and “Q&A hour”.
2. From “Schedule”: “Repeats weekly” under the time makes the date the “First date”, “Who is it for?” decides series or Q&A hour, then “Publish the series”.
3. “Episodes”: each one’s date and title; tap the title to change it; every episode is a full live.
4. “Skip” a week: the following episodes shift a week and nothing is deleted; “Restore” brings it back.
5. “Change the rule”: day, time, length and count, for coming dates only.
6. “One registration” for every episode, from the series page’s “Register for the series”.

## Before you start
- A fixed weekday and time: the rule is weekly.
- Episode titles if you have a plan; otherwise name them later.
- For a paid series: payment methods enabled in your store.

## The steps

### 1. “Series and programmes”
Series and programmes, in the “What you broadcast” group: one rule makes the dates, one registration for all. At the top, two buttons: Q&A hour and New series, which open “New live” on their kind. Each series has its row: title, rule (“every Friday 16:00”), episode count (or “No end”), the next date, registrants, the programme’s progress and status (“Draft”, “Running”, “Ended”). With no series yet, the page offers “Create a series”.
On screen: «Series and programmes»، «Q&A hour»، «New series»، «No end»، «Running»، «Ended»، «Create a series»

### 2. Creating: “Repeats weekly” in “Schedule”
In Schedule (or “New series” and “Question hour” from “Series and programmes”, or “Live series” in the phone’s “+”), write the title, answer “Who is it for?” and pick the day, time and length like any live, then turn on Repeats weekly under the time: the date becomes First date and the switch reads “Every Friday at 16:00”. A counter of dates appears (8 by default, 2 to 60) with a reminder that skipping a week shifts the episodes without deleting them, and “No end date” for a year of dates. The kind follows “Who is it for?”: “All my students” makes it a Q&A hour; “A course’s students”, “Anyone who registers” or “With a ticket” (one ticket for every episode) a Series. “Question hour” from “Series and programmes” opens with “All my students” and “No end date” already picked. Every episode runs on the link chosen in “Where does it happen?”: your Google Meet or Zoom link while the Dirassa+ room isn’t open. Then Publish the series: every date is made at once, a reminder goes out before each, and the series page opens.
On screen: «Schedule»، «New series»، «Question hour»، «Who is it for?»، «Repeats weekly»، «First date»، «No end date»، «Publish the series»
Heads-up: The co-host, moderator and curriculum lesson aren’t kept with a series from this form. Assign the moderator per episode from its page, or give them a school moderator role. In a school where management chooses who broadcasts, only those chosen create a series.

### 3. “Episodes”: a title per date, a full live per episode
The series page: its title, kind (a programme with its number of lives, or a recurring Q&A hour), length, “Sign-up page”, and the “More” menu with “End the series”. Then Episodes: each date with its title (“Tap a title to change it”; Enter or leaving the field saves) and status (“This week”, “Live”, “Recording”, “Ended”), with a button to open it. Every episode is a full live: its page in your dashboard, its questions ahead, its reminders, its attendance and its summary; you start it with “Start and open” like any live on your link.
On screen: «Sign-up page»، «Episodes»، «Tap a title to change it»، «This week»، «Live»، «Recording»، «Ended»
Tip: Salim names his episodes now (“Method for written questions”, “Mechanics in 90 minutes”, “Electricity”…): visitors see them on the series page and know what’s coming.

### 4. “Skip” a week: episodes shift, nothing is deleted
Each coming date has a Skip button; press it, then confirm: the date is skipped and the episodes shift a week. The week reads “Week skipped”, every later episode moves a week with its title, the programme ends a week later, and registrants get a notice about that date. Restore brings the date back. A date that started or ended can’t be skipped. On the public series page, visitors read that there’s no live that day.
On screen: «Skip»، «Press to confirm»، «Week skipped»، «Restore»
Tip: Autumn holidays? Salim skips Friday 30 October: “Electricity” moves to 6 November, and the general review to 11 December.

### 5. “The rule”: change it for coming dates
The The rule card: “Repeats” (“every Friday”), “Time”, “Starts”, the episodes or “No end”, and “Ends” (computed). Change the rule opens it: day, time, length (from 15 minutes to 8 hours, in steps of 15) and count. Only upcoming dates change; the past stays as it was, and every changed date reaches registrants. Then Save the rule.
On screen: «The rule»، «Repeats»، «Time»، «Starts»، «Ends»، «Change the rule»، «Save the rule»
Tip: “Bac without fear” students leave school at 16:30: Salim moves the rule to 17:00, and every coming episode changes at once.

### 6. “One registration”, and the series page
The One registration card: whoever registers once gets into all 8 episodes and a reminder before each date, with the number of registrants. The series has a public page on your academy site (‎/live/s/…, via “Sign-up page”): the series and its number of lives, the day and time, from … to …, the episodes one by one with their status (next in 3 days, replay available, ended), and the invitation to register once for all of them with Register for the series (or buying the series ticket if it’s paid). From “More” on the series page in your dashboard, End the series: it ends and the coming dates are cancelled.
On screen: «One registration»، «Register for the series»، «End the series»
Heads-up: “End the series” sends no notice to registrants. Tell them yourself first.

## After the series
- Registration and tickets: What visitors see and how they register or buy: the “Public lives and tickets” lesson.
- After each episode: Who came, the summary and homework: the “After the live” lesson.
- The student’s side: Episodes in the portal and their reminders: the “Live on the student’s side” lesson.

## Questions

**What’s the difference between a series and a Q&A hour?**
A series is a programme with a number of episodes (2 to 60), each with its title; a Q&A hour is a weekly slot repeating with no end or a set number, for all your students, who bring their questions.

**Does a student register for every episode?**
No. One registration covers every episode, with a reminder before each date and when it starts.

**What happens to the episodes when I skip a week?**
Every later episode shifts a week with its title, nothing is deleted, and registrants get a notice about that date. “Restore” undoes it.

**Can I change the series’ time after it has started?**
Yes, with “Change the rule”. Only upcoming dates change, and every changed date reaches registrants.

**Is every episode recorded?**
On a Meet or Zoom link we record nothing: record from your meeting if you like. Recording and a replay for each episode come with the Dirassa+ room.
