# Write a lesson on Dirassa Plus

> A lesson is a page of blocks you see the way your student does: video, text with maths, an exercise whose solution opens step by step, a summary, a table, an interactive page and more — thirteen blocks, with the lesson’s questions at the end. Your work saves itself; publishing snapshots a version for students and your draft stays free. Every button of the editor is explained here, on desktop and phone, along with what your student sees.

- Time: About 15 minutes
- Who can do it: Requires permission to edit lessons in your role at the school.
- Updated: 2026-11-02

## In short
1. Open the lesson from the curriculum: its structure on one side, the page as students see it in the middle.
2. Start an empty lesson with a video, a paragraph or a PDF, with a draft from Noqta, or from a ready shape.
3. Add blocks with “Add a block” or Ctrl+K: thirteen blocks, sorted into tabs by what you want to do.
4. Upload a protected video and publish without waiting for its processing, give it a poster and chapters, and transcribe it from your plan’s minutes.
5. Write the explanation in a text block, with maths.
6. Add a step-by-step exercise, a summary, a table, an interactive page, code and a toggle.
7. Add images, PDFs, audio and notes, and split the lesson into sections.
8. Reorder, hide and copy blocks to another lesson, from their toolbar or the structure.
9. Ask Noqta to simplify a block, summarize it or turn it into an exercise.
10. Put “Lesson questions” at the end, or let Noqta write them.
11. Set the lesson up from ⚙: settings, files, ratings, and “History” at the panel’s foot.
12. Publish when the button turns orange or schedule a ready draft; in a course that is still a draft, publish the course from the same panel.
13. On a phone: “Structure”, “Add”, “Lesson”, and each block in its own sheet.
14. Preview the lesson as your student sees it.

## Before you start
- A course with a chapter; add the lesson from “Add to section” → “Lesson” in the curriculum.
- Permission to edit lessons in your role.
- The material ready or close to it: video, text, exercises, PDF handout, images.
- Storage on your plan for videos and files, and minutes left this month if you want to transcribe the video.

## The steps

### 1. The lesson editor at a glance
Click a lesson in the curriculum to open its editor. The top bar, from the start: “Back to the course”, Noqta’s help button, “Lesson structure” (Ctrl+\), then where the lesson sits: the course › the chapter · “Lesson 1 of 9” — click it to see the “Course lessons” grouped by chapter, with “+” to add a lesson to a chapter. Under it, the lesson’s state — “Draft”, “Published”, “Unpublished changes” or “Scheduled” — and the save status, with ‹ › beside it for the previous and next lesson. At the other end: “Undo”, “Preview as a student”, ⚙ “Lesson settings”, ⋯ “More”, and the publish button. In the middle, the page as students see it: the title, a line such as “420 words · 3 min read · 22 min lesson”, the description, then the blocks. In ⋯: “Save the lesson layout as a template”, “Build the lesson from a file”, “Tour with Noqta”, “Keyboard shortcuts” and “Delete lesson”.
On screen: «Back to the course»، «Lesson structure»، «Lesson 1 of 9»، «Course lessons»، «Draft»، «Published»، «Unpublished changes»، «Scheduled»، «Previous lesson»، «Next lesson»، «Undo»، «Preview as a student»، «Lesson settings»، «More»، «Stay»، «Leave anyway»، «Keep mine»، «Take theirs»
Tip: Saving is automatic about a second after each change: “Editing…”, then “Saving…”, then “Saved”; Ctrl+S saves at once. If it fails you see “Not saved · Retry”: your work stays in this browser and is sent again on its own while you’re online, and as soon as the connection is back. If you try to leave before it arrives, a popup says so — “Your latest changes haven't reached the server yet — they're kept in this browser.” — with “Stay” or “Leave anyway”.
Heads-up: If the same lesson was saved elsewhere — another tab or a colleague — you see “Opened elsewhere” and a band at the top of the page with “Keep mine” or “Take theirs”. Your blocks are copied to the block clipboard before you choose, so nothing is lost, and nothing publishes until you pick.

### 2. Start an empty lesson
An empty lesson says “Start this lesson” and, under it, “One video or one paragraph is enough to publish this lesson.” Then the first moves, one tap each: “Upload a video” opens your files and starts sending the one you pick into a video block, “Write the explanation” puts down a text block with the cursor in it, and “Attach a PDF” opens your files for a PDF block; on a phone or tablet, “Record a video” comes first. Under them, when Noqta is on, “Draft it with Noqta” — “From the lesson's title and chapter: an explanation and an exercise you review before publishing”. The ready shapes are folded under “Or start from a ready shape” (with “· 2 of yours” when you’ve saved some): “Video and notes” (video and text), “Video and PDF summary” (video, text and PDF), “Reading lesson” (text, image and note) and “Practice session” (an explanation, two worked exercises, then a summary) — pick one and its first block opens for you to fill; then “Your templates”: lessons you saved from ⋯ → “Save the lesson layout as a template” (the blocks’ order and their text, without videos, files or questions); then “Build this lesson from a PDF you have” (up to 18 MB): Noqta splits it into blocks you review before “Add to the lesson”. At the bottom, “All block types” opens the gallery; and a long text pasted into an empty lesson is split into text blocks on its own. Nothing here is orange: “Publish” carries no count, there’s no words-and-minutes line, and the structure waits for the first block.
On screen: «Start this lesson»، «Upload a video»، «Write the explanation»، «Attach a PDF»، «Record a video»، «Draft it with Noqta»، «Noqta's draft»، «Use it»، «Another one»، «Dismiss»، «Or start from a ready shape»، «Video and notes»، «Video and PDF summary»، «Reading lesson»، «Practice session»، «Your templates»، «Save the lesson layout as a template»، «Build this lesson from a PDF you have»، «Add to the lesson»، «All block types»
Tip: “Draft it with Noqta” puts a “Noqta's draft” card in place of the empty page: from the course, its level, the lesson’s chapter and title, she writes an explanation in a text block and an exercise with its solution steps, shown as your student will read them. “Use it” puts both in the lesson as one change — one “Undo” takes them out —, “Another one” asks for a new draft, and “Dismiss” goes back to the empty page. Each academy gets 10 drafts a day, and a failed one isn’t counted; once they’re used you read “Today's drafts are used — they come back tomorrow”. Nothing from a PDF is saved until you press “Add to the lesson”, and a PDF made only of scanned images can’t be read.
Heads-up: Read what Noqta wrote before you publish: until you change a word of it, “Worth doing” in the publish panel says “Noqta wrote this explanation — read it before publishing”, without stopping the publish. And if the lesson already ends with questions but has no explanation yet, the title reads “Add the explanation before the questions”.

### 3. “Add a block”: the gallery
Press “Add a block” under the last block, the “+” that appears beside a block when you hover it to add after it, or Ctrl+K at any time. A gallery opens that draws each block as it will look, with a search and tabs by what you want to do: “Explain” (text, video, image, audio, table, code), “Practice” (exercise, interactive), “Summarize” (note, summary), “Attach” (PDF), “Organize” (section, toggle), and “Saved”: blocks you kept with “Save to your library”, ready for any lesson. It also has “Paste” for blocks you copied, and “Build from a file” for Noqta to split a file into blocks.
On screen: «Add a block»، «All»، «Explain»، «Practice»، «Summarize»، «Attach»، «Organize»، «Saved»، «Paste»، «Build from a file»
Tip: On a phone it’s the “Add” button at the bottom, and its gallery opens with a row for the camera and what’s already on your phone: “Take a photo” (an image block), “Record video”, “Record audio”, “From photos” and “Your videos” — a video from your phone that starts uploading into a video block.

### 4. The video block and its transcript
Three ways: “Upload a video” — protected, and the upload resumes if the connection drops — an “External link” (YouTube… not download-protected), or “From your library” (ready videos and ones still processing, never one still uploading). Under them, a quiet line says what will happen: “8.4 GB left in your storage · uploads resume if cut off · the platform processes the video after upload”. While it uploads, a bar with its percent and ✕ “Cancel upload”, then “Processing… 34%” on the poster, with “The platform is processing the video — students see it once it's done, and you can publish without waiting…” under it. Once it’s ready, click the block and its properties open beside it: “Uploaded to the platform — protected · Ready · 18:24”, the video’s title, its length and the student data it uses, the “Poster”, and “Video chapters”: add them by hand with a time and a title, or “Let Noqta suggest chapters” from the transcript. If the video has no transcript yet, pick its language under “Video transcript” and press “Transcribe (19 min)”; with a transcript, Noqta suggests chapters and writes questions from what you said.
On screen: «Upload a video»، «External link»، «From your library»، «Cancel upload»، «Processing…»، «Uploaded to the platform — protected»، «Poster»، «Video chapters»، «Add a chapter»، «Let Noqta suggest chapters»، «Video transcript»، «Video language»، «Transcribe (19 min)»، «Processing failed»، «Upload unfinished»، «Upload it again»
Tip: Transcription uses your Studio plan’s minutes for this month — the same minutes the desktop studio uses. The button says how many it needs and how many are left; a video is charged once, and nothing is charged if the job doesn’t start. It usually takes a few minutes.
Heads-up: A video bigger than what’s left in your storage is refused before anything is sent: “This video (3.1 GB) is larger than what's left in your storage (2.0 GB). Export it at 1080p, or Get more storage”. A video that failed says “Processing failed” on its poster and “This video failed to process — it won't reach students.” (or “Upload unfinished” for an upload cut off on an earlier visit) with “Upload it again”, and your bell gets “A video failed in “…””; the lesson won’t publish while it’s there. And your whole academy uploads at most five videos at a time: the sixth reads “5 videos are already uploading. Wait for one to finish, then try again.”

### 5. The text block and maths
Click a text block and its toolbar appears inside it: Bold, Italic, Underline, Highlight · Large heading, Heading, bullet and numbered lists, Quote, Code · Link, Inline formula (Σ) and Block formula (∫) · and Left-to-right for a paragraph in French or English. A formula is typed in LaTeX in “Insert a formula” with a live preview, and you’re told if it’s invalid; click any formula in the text to edit it.
On screen: «Bold»، «Italic»، «Underline»، «Highlight»، «Large heading»، «Heading»، «Bullet list»، «Numbered list»، «Quote»، «Code»، «Link»، «Inline formula»، «Block formula»، «Left-to-right»، «Insert a formula»
Tip: Example: type \frac{a}{b} + \sqrt{x} to see the fraction and the root at once. On a phone the same tools ride on the keyboard while it’s up, with “Hide keyboard”.

### 6. Exercise, summary, table, interactive, code and toggle
Exercise: the “Problem”, then the “Step-by-step solution” — up to 12 steps you can reorder or remove; students read the problem, try it, then open the solution one step at a time. Summary: a framed text with “Add to my notebook” under it, which copies it into the student’s notes. Table: rows and columns (up to 40×8); paste a table from Excel or Google Sheets into any cell and it fills from there, with “First row is headings” and a caption in its properties. Interactive: paste a link from GeoGebra, Desmos, PhET, Google (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms, Drive), Wordwall, Canva or Genially and the page shows inside the lesson; its “Frame shape” is picked from a list: Wide 16:9, Classic 4:3, Square 1:1 or Tall. Code: monospace, left to right, Tab indents; you set the “Language” and students get “Copy”. Toggle: a title students open to read what’s inside — the place for proofs and details not everyone needs.
On screen: «Exercise»، «Problem»، «Step-by-step solution»، «Add a step»، «Summary»، «Add to my notebook»، «Table»، «First row is headings»، «Interactive»، «Frame shape»، «Code»، «Language»، «Copy»، «Toggle»
Tip: Make each step one move, a hint before the answer: students see “Show the first step of the solution”, then “Next step (2 of 3)”, and “Hide solution” whenever they like.
Heads-up: “Interactive” refuses links from other sites: videos belong in a “Video” block, files in a “PDF” block.

### 7. Image, PDF, audio, note and section
Image: upload it, paste its link, paste it straight in or drop it; it’s compressed in the browser, with “Image description” and “Caption” in its properties. PDF: upload the file, then “Allow download”: on, students open it and save it; off, they read it inside the platform only. Audio: a file, a link, or “Record now” in the browser; its length is read from the file, shown to students (“4:12”) and counted in the lesson’s length. Note in four kinds: “Note”, “Tip”, “Warning”, “Common mistake”. Section: a numbered heading that groups the blocks after it; students see it numbered.
On screen: «Upload an image»، «Image link»، «Image description»، «Caption»، «Upload a PDF»، «Allow download»، «Upload audio»، «Record now»، «Note»، «Tip»، «Warning»، «Common mistake»، «Section»
Tip: “Allow download” reaches students right away, without publishing.

### 8. Organize the lesson: the toolbar, the structure, selection
Hover a block and a drag handle and a “+” appear beside it. Click it — or reach it with Tab — to make it active: a dark ring, its own tools inside, and a small toolbar on its top edge: ↑ ↓, “Duplicate”, the eye “Hide from students”, Noqta’s button, and ⋯. Also in ⋯: “Move to a section”, “Turn into…” (text, summary, toggle, or one of the four note kinds), “Copy to another lesson”, “Save to your library” and “Delete”. “Lesson structure” shows one line per block under its section: a yellow dot means incomplete, a crossed eye means hidden, and after publishing, the share of students who reached it; drag lines to reorder. To select several blocks, Ctrl-click them (⌘ on a Mac) or tick them in the structure, and a dark bar appears: “Move”, “To another lesson”, “Duplicate”, “Copy”, “Hide”, “Delete”.
On screen: «Duplicate»، «Hide from students»، «Show to students»، «Move to a section»، «Turn into…»، «Copy to another lesson»، «Save to your library»، «Delete»، «Lesson structure»، «Move»، «To another lesson»، «Copy»، «Hide»
Tip: A hidden block stays in your draft and never reaches students. Every change can be undone with “Undo”, which the notification offers too. With the keyboard alone: Tab makes a block active, ↑ and ↓ go to the previous and next block, Ctrl+D duplicates, ⌫ deletes and the selection moves to the next block, Ctrl+↑ and Ctrl+↓ move, Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V paste blocks after the active one — even in another lesson. The full list: ⋯ → “Keyboard shortcuts”.

### 9. “Ask Noqta” on a block
On blocks with words, Noqta’s button sits in the block’s toolbar: “Ask Noqta” (when Noqta is on for your account). On text or a toggle: “Simpler”, “Shorter”, “Fix the language”, “Translate to” (العربية, Français, English), “Summarize it”, which adds a summary block after it, and “Make an exercise from it”, which adds an exercise with its solution steps. On a summary or a note: simpler, shorter, fix, translate. On an exercise: “Write the step-by-step solution”, which fills its steps, “Similar exercise”, added after it, fix and translate. You see Noqta’s work as the student will, and nothing changes until you press “Use it”, “Add it after the block” or “Put them in the exercise”.
On screen: «Ask Noqta»، «Simpler»، «Shorter»، «Fix the language»، «Translate to»، «Summarize it»، «Make an exercise from it»، «Write the step-by-step solution»، «Similar exercise»، «Use it»، «Add it after the block»، «Put them in the exercise»، «Describe the lesson with Noqta»، «Reword it»
Tip: One “Undo” takes back what Noqta added. And under the lesson’s description, once the lesson has content, “Describe the lesson with Noqta”: she reads the lesson and writes a sentence or two students read under the title (“Reword it” when the description already has text).

### 10. “End of the lesson”: its questions and files
Under the blocks, after “Add a block”, a small “End of the lesson” group holds two lines. “Lesson questions” — students answer them after the explanation: beside the title, the paper’s format (practice, test or exam), and under it where things stand, such as “3 questions · 1 waiting for your review” with the first question, or “No questions yet — students answer them after the explanation”. Click the line — it shows “Add questions” while there are none — to open the question editor on “Lesson questions — write the first one”: opening it makes nothing until you write. Or “Noqta writes them” at its end — once the lesson has an explanation — for Noqta to suggest questions from the lesson’s content: they land in the paper marked “From Noqta”, and you keep, edit or delete each one. And “Lesson files”: how many and their names; the line opens the “Files” tab of the ⚙ panel. The same two lines sit at the bottom of the structure.
On screen: «End of the lesson»، «Lesson questions»، «No questions yet — students answer them after the explanation»، «Add questions»، «Noqta writes them»، «Lesson files»
Tip: A few questions after the explanation fix a lesson better than rewatching it. And a lesson with no questions shows its students no “Check your understanding” row at all.
Heads-up: “From Noqta” questions you haven’t kept stop the lesson from being published until you keep or delete them.

### 11. The ⚙ panel: settings, files, ratings, history
Press ⚙ “Lesson settings” to open a panel with three tabs — “Settings”, “Files” and “Ratings” — and a “History” row at its foot; “Pin the panel” keeps it open. “Settings”: “Who can open it” (“Subscribers”, or “Everyone” = a free preview), “When it unlocks” (immediately, after a delay, on a fixed date, after the previous lesson — with “Require a score in the previous lesson” — or I open it myself) with a “Students see: …” line, “Lesson length” (measured from the content or set by you, and “Measure automatically”), and “Coming soon” with an expected date. “Files”: files shown together under the lesson — drop several at once, reorder, rename, and set each to “Download” or “View only”. “Ratings”: the average, the spread of ratings on the scale from “Poor” to “Excellent”, the course average, and “Needs your reply (2)” for ratings of “Fair” or lower; on each one, “Reply” — private, the student gets a notification and sees it under their rating — and “Handled”. And the “History” row — “Published versions” — at the panel’s foot opens the “Publish history” in place of the tabs, with “Back” to return: every publish leaves a numbered version; “View” opens it in the page, read-only, and “Restore it” puts it in your draft without sending it to students until you publish.
On screen: «Lesson settings»، «Pin the panel»، «Settings»، «Who can open it»، «Subscribers»، «Everyone»، «When it unlocks»، «Require a score in the previous lesson»، «Lesson length»، «Measure automatically»، «Coming soon»، «Files»، «Download»، «View only»، «Ratings»، «Needs your reply (2)»، «Reply»، «Handled»، «History»، «Published versions»، «Publish history»، «Back»، «View»، «Restore it»
Tip: Each setting saves itself (“Saved”) and reaches students at once, as do changes to files — no publishing needed.
Heads-up: Turning on “Coming soon” hides the published lesson: students see only its name until you publish again. That’s why it needs permission to publish courses; without it, it’s locked: “Coming soon” needs permission to publish courses.

### 12. Publishing: the button and its panel
The publish button says where the lesson stands, and is orange only when publishing can happen now: “Publish” for a ready draft, “Update” for a published lesson with changes, and a quiet “Published” when students have the latest version. If something still blocks it, “Publish” is only outlined, with the number of missing things beside it; a scheduled lesson reads “Scheduled · Mon 26 Oct · 18:00”. Press it to open the “Publish” panel: the lesson’s state, then “Before publishing” — what blocks it, each with “Go” to the exact block or field, like “Table 5 — Fill in the table” or “Video 1 — the upload failed, upload it again” — then “Worth doing”: things worth a look that don’t block, like the short description, or “Video 1 — processing (34%), students see it once it's done”. Next, “What students will get” on a first publish (blocks, questions, reading minutes, data) or “What changed since the last publish”, with a quiet “1 empty block won't reach students” under it when you left a block with nothing in it. For a draft, “When”: “Now” or “Later” — a day and time in your school’s time zone, and it publishes on its own. On a first publish now, “Notify the course's students”, ticked from the start, if the course is published and has students and your role may send notifications: it puts the news in their notifications. Whatever you choose there, the course’s students who turned on notifications get “New lesson published” on their phone, in each phone’s language, once per lesson, whether you publish it by hand or it goes out at its scheduled time. Then “Publish lesson”, “Update the published version” or “Schedule publishing” — or “Finish what's missing first” if something is left. After publishing, the panel says “Published — students can see it now.” with “See it as a student”, and offers the course’s next lesson: “Next: “…”” with “Open it”. In a course that is still a draft, you read under the lesson’s state “The course itself is a draft — nobody sees this until you publish it.”, and after publishing “The lesson is ready. Publish the course so your students can see it.” with one orange button, “Publish the course”, which publishes it right there — then “Course published — your students can see this lesson now.” — and, quietly, “See it as a student” and “Write the next one: “…””. If the course is paid with no payment method ready, “Publish the course” first asks in the “Your students can’t pay yet” popup: “Add a CCP or BaridiMob account” opens “Payments” with the account window open, and “Publish now, I’ll add a payment method later” publishes it as asked.
On screen: «Publish»، «Update»، «Published»، «Scheduled»، «Before publishing»، «Go»، «Worth doing»، «What students will get»، «What changed since the last publish»، «When»، «Now»، «Later»، «Notify the course's students»، «New lesson published»، «Your students can’t pay yet»، «Add a CCP or BaridiMob account»، «Publish now, I’ll add a payment method later»، «Publish lesson»، «Update the published version»، «Schedule publishing»، «Finish what's missing first»، «Published — students can see it now.»، «See it as a student»، «Open it»، «The lesson is ready. Publish the course so your students can see it.»، «Publish the course»، «Write the next one: “…”»، «Make it a free trial lesson»، «Make it free»، «Discard changes»، «Move back to draft»
Tip: Ctrl+Enter opens the panel; inside the open panel it does what the panel’s button does, with your choices there: the time and the notice. Publishing snapshots a version for students and your draft stays free; hidden and empty blocks never reach them. After a first publish in a paid course with no free lesson, the panel quietly offers “Make it a free trial lesson” — “Visitors can open it before buying the course.” — with “Make it free”, the same as “Who can open it: Everyone”. If the button reads “Ready for review”, your role doesn’t publish courses: your lesson is saved and shows in the curriculum, and publishing is up to someone who can; the same goes for the course: “Publishing the course is up to whoever has that right. Your lesson is ready and shows in the curriculum.” “Discard changes” and “Move back to draft”, at the foot of a published lesson’s panel, ask you to confirm.
Heads-up: A publish time is for a ready draft only: “Finish what's missing first — an incomplete lesson can't be scheduled.” A published lesson can’t schedule its update — update it now, with no notice. And if a scheduled lesson isn’t ready at its time, it isn’t published: the editor reads “Missed its publish time” with what was missing, and the course’s teacher gets a bell notice ““…” was not published on schedule”.

### 13. On a phone
The top bar: back, “Lesson 1 of 9” (it opens the course’s lessons) with its state and save status under it, “Undo” when there is something to undo, ⋯ and the publish button. At the bottom, three doors: “Structure” (a sheet titled “Structure · 7 blocks”), “Add” and “Lesson” (the same lesson panel). On a phone the page is for reading and choosing: tap a block and it opens in a full-screen sheet, with ‹ › to the previous and next block, “Content” and “Properties” tabs, “Done”, and under your thumb “Duplicate”, “Add after”, “More” and “Delete”. The text tools ride on the keyboard only while it’s up, with “Hide keyboard”. An upload doesn’t stop when you press “Done”, switch to “Properties” or move to another block: the page and the block’s sheet show the same bar, and only ✕ “Cancel upload”, deleting the block or leaving the lesson stops it. “Preview as a student” is in ⋯.
On screen: «Lesson 1 of 9»، «Structure»، «Add»، «Lesson»، «Content»، «Properties»، «Done»، «Duplicate»، «Add after»، «More»، «Delete»، «Hide keyboard»، «Cancel upload»
Tip: The quickest start on a phone: in an empty lesson “Record a video” comes first; in “Add”, “Take a photo” turns the classroom board into an image block, “Your videos” uploads a video you already filmed, and “Record audio” captures a short explanation.

### 14. What your student sees
“Preview as a student” saves first, then shows your draft’s blocks and files as the student reads them, in “Phone view” or “Desktop view”, with the data the lesson costs and its reading time in the header. In the published lesson, students see the video first with their name as a watermark, its chapters, and resume where they stopped — while the video is still processing they see “The video is being prepared” in its place (“It will appear here once it's ready — check back shortly.”), and “The video can't be played” if it failed; then the description and the blocks in order: numbered sections, an exercise opened with “Show the first step of the solution”, a summary with “Add to my notebook”, tables, interactive pages, code with “Copy”, toggles, notes in their colours, and audio with its length. At the end, the “After the lesson” box: the questions, then its files row by row, then “How was this lesson?” with “Your teacher's reply” under it when you’ve written one, then “Complete and go to the next”. “My notes” sits in a side panel on desktop and in the bottom bar on phones — the full page is in the lesson “Lesson mode for students”.
On screen: «Preview as a student»، «Phone view»، «Desktop view»، «The video is being prepared»، «Show the first step of the solution»، «Add to my notebook»، «Copy»، «Lesson files»، «My notes»، «How was this lesson?»، «Your teacher's reply»
Tip: After publishing, the structure shows the share of students who reached each block: where it drops suddenly is where your students stop.

## After the lesson
- Place it in the curriculum: Choose where it sits and when it opens, in the curriculum.
- Review its questions: In the question editor, or suggested by Noqta and reviewed by you.
- Follow the reach: The share beside each block in the structure shows where your students stop.
- Reply to students: “Ratings” → “Needs your reply”: a private reply, and the student is notified.

## Questions

**Is my work kept if I close the page?**
The lesson saves about a second after every change, and Ctrl+S saves at once. If the server can’t be reached, your work stays in this browser and is sent again on its own; if you try to leave first, a popup asks: “Stay” or “Leave anyway”. When you come back to the lesson in the same browser you’re offered “Restore it”; if that copy is older than the saved version it says so with its date, and “Restore it anyway” is still there.

**I edited a published lesson; why don’t students see it?**
Publishing takes a snapshot. Your edits stay in the draft — the button reads “Update” — until you press it, then “Update the published version”. The panel’s settings, its files and “Allow download” reach students right away, though.

**Upload a video, or a YouTube link?**
An uploaded video is protected, carries the student’s name as a watermark, and gets a poster, chapters and a transcript. An external link isn’t download-protected.

**How do I get the video’s transcript, and what does it cost?**
In the video’s properties → “Video transcript”: pick the language and press “Transcribe”. It uses your Studio plan’s minutes for this month, and the button says how many it needs and how many are left. A video is charged once, and nothing is charged if the job doesn’t start.

**Why can’t I publish the lesson?**
It needs a title of at least 3 characters, content, no half-written block (a problem without its solution, a toggle without its body, a table with gaps — amber edge, saying what it needs), no video still uploading or failed, and Noqta’s questions reviewed. A block with nothing at all in it blocks nothing: it stays in your draft and never reaches students. The number beside “Publish” on the button counts what blocks, “Before publishing” in the panel names it, and “Go” takes you to each one. If the button reads “Ready for review”, your role doesn’t publish courses: publishing is up to someone who can.

**I published the lesson — why can’t my students see it?**
If the course itself is still a draft, nobody sees its lessons: the panel says “The lesson is ready. Publish the course so your students can see it.”, and its “Publish the course” button publishes it right there. If the video is still processing, students see “The video is being prepared” until it’s ready; then it appears on its own, with no new publish.

**Do I have to wait for the video to finish processing before publishing?**
No. A processing video doesn’t stop the publish; “Worth doing” says “Video 1 — processing (34%), students see it once it's done”. What stops it is a video still uploading, or one whose upload or processing failed — “Upload it again” in the block.

**Why can’t I schedule an update to a published lesson?**
A publish time is for a ready draft only. A published lesson is updated now with “Update the published version”, and an incomplete lesson can’t be scheduled until it’s finished: “Finish what's missing first — an incomplete lesson can't be scheduled.”

**I opened a lesson and it says “Read-only” — why?**
Because you can see this course but don’t edit it: the editor shows the lesson’s published version to read and saves nothing, so a colleague’s work is never overwritten. Editing is up to whoever edits the course.

**Do students see a hidden block?**
No. A hidden block stays in your draft so you can come back to it, but never reaches the published version.

**How do I reuse a block or a whole lesson?**
“Save to your library” in the block’s menu keeps it under “Saved” in the gallery, in any lesson. “Copy to another lesson” adds it to the end of the lesson you choose, as a draft. For the whole layout: ⋯ → “Save the lesson layout as a template”, which shows up in “Your templates” when you start an empty lesson.

**Can I go back to an old version?**
Yes: ⚙ → “History”, at the foot of the panel. Every publish is a numbered version; “View” opens it read-only, and “Restore it” puts it in your draft only — nothing reaches students until you publish, and you can undo it.
