# Create a space for your students

> A space is a corner of your “Community” with its own name, colour and members, its own feed and questions. It can be a free Q&A club for the buyers of a course, a paid monthly cohort for one group, or a full bundle by invitation that opens your courses while the subscription runs. Each is made in a single sheet in two minutes, and the sheet reads back exactly what the space will do before you create it. We follow Sara Makhloufi, a video-editing trainer at En-Nadjah Academy, as she creates her three spaces; the same steps serve a photography trainer gathering students in a club, a marketing coach selling monthly follow-up, or a school teacher opening a space for an exam class.

- Time: About 3 minutes per space
- Who can do it: Requires the “Community and moderation” permission in your role. Price, period and included courses need no extra money permission.

## In short
1. From “Community” → “Spaces”, press “New space”.
2. Pick the “Shape”: Q&A club, monthly cohort or full bundle — it fills the form without locking it.
3. Set “What it is”: the icon and colour, then the “Name” and “Tagline”.
4. Set “What it costs”: the “Price” in dinars, and the “Period” if the space is paid.
5. Set “Who comes in”: “Who may enter”, “Joining” for a free space, and “Members open threads”.
6. Choose the “Courses the subscription unlocks” when the space is paid.
7. Read the sheet’s last sentence, then press “Create space”.

## Before you start
- A published course with students: “All students” means anyone with current access to one of your courses, and “Course buyers” anyone with access to that course.
- A group in your course if you want a space for that group only, like “October cohort” in “Editing from scratch”.
- A payment method ready in your workspace if the space is paid: CCP, BaridiMob or EDAHABIA & CIB.
- The “Community and moderation” permission in your role.

## The steps

### 1. Open “New space”
In the dark column at the edge of the screen, go to “Community”: you land on the “Spaces” page, with every space, its members and its price, plus the “General space” every school has. Press “New space” at the top of the page (on a phone, a wide button above the list). A single sheet opens, with no steps: its head is a live preview — the space’s icon and name as you type it (before that, “Space name”), with the price and who sees it underneath — then the “Shape” and three parts: “What it is”, “What it costs”, “Who comes in”. Sara has one space so far, “Editing Q&A club” with 64 members, and opens the sheet to create her second: “October cohort — editing”.
On screen: «Community»، «Spaces»، «General space»، «New space»، «Space name»، «Shape»، «What it is»، «What it costs»، «Who comes in»
Tip: In the “Community” panel beside the column, the “Spaces” group ends with a “New space” link, and “+” → “New space” does the same: both take you to this same page. With no space yet, you read “Create your first space” with the create button.

### 2. The “Shape”: three ready templates
The “Shape” is three buttons, each with its price, and under them the chosen shape’s description: “Q&A club” “Free” — “Everyone · members post · instant join”; “Monthly cohort” “1,500 DZD/mo” — “One group · paid · teacher posts”; “Full bundle” “4,000 DZD/mo” — “Invite only · courses included · paid”. Pressing a shape fills the colour, icon, price, period, joining, “Members open threads” and who comes in, and writes a name and a tagline as long as you haven’t typed in them. It is a starting point, not a lock: every field after it stays editable. Sara presses “Monthly cohort”: the price becomes 1,500 DZD a month, only she posts, and the sheet asks her to pick the group.
On screen: «Shape»، «Q&A club»، «Monthly cohort»، «Full bundle»، «Free»، «1,500 DZD/mo»، «4,000 DZD/mo»
Tip: When the sheet opens it holds the “Q&A club” values and an empty name. Switching shape after you typed the name doesn’t erase it.
Heads-up: “Monthly cohort” never picks a group for you: “Who may enter” stays on “Choose a group…”, and “Create space” won’t work until you choose.

### 3. “What it is”: icon, colour and name
The coloured square with a small pencil is “Icon & colour”: click it to open a panel (a bottom sheet on a phone, closed with “Done”). At the top, 18 suggested colours, then “Custom colour” for any shade and “Colour code” if you have one like #c2410c. Below, “Search icons…” and three groups: “Subjects” (atom, flask, equations…), “Teaching” and “Marks”, or “Initial” to show the name’s first letter instead of an icon. Then the “Name” (up to 120 characters) and the “Tagline” (up to 160): one line telling a student why to come in. Sara picks the video icon, types “October cohort — editing” and the tagline “Sunday class, the week’s summary and editing exercises”.
On screen: «Icon & colour»، «Custom colour»، «Colour code»، «Search icons…»، «Subjects»، «Teaching»، «Marks»، «Initial»، «Done»، «Name»، «Tagline»
Tip: Search reads the icon’s English name, like video or book; browsing the three groups is usually quicker. If you pick the shape before typing, the tagline gets a ready line — “Sessions and summaries, week by week” for the cohort — to edit as you like.

### 4. “What it costs”: price and period
The “Price” is a whole number in dinars; at 0 it reads “Free” beside it, above that “DZD”. As soon as the price is above zero the “Period” appears: “Monthly”, “Quarterly” (3 months), “Yearly” or “One-time” — access with no end date. Each payment opens one period, starting when the payment is confirmed; a renewal is added to the days left, with no automatic charge or renewal. A money line appears at the foot of the sheet: “A subscription starts when you accept the payment receipt, or at once with online payment.” Example: “October cohort — editing” at 1,500 DZD a month; if 38 students pay this month, it brings in 57,000 DZD.
On screen: «Price»، «Free»، «DZD»، «Period»، «Monthly»، «Quarterly»، «Yearly»، «One-time»
Tip: A free space has no period and its membership never lapses. “One-time” suits a revision bundle paid once that stays open.
Heads-up: Nobody can pay without a method ready in your workspace. Before you sell, check your payment methods, then choose this space’s own in “Settings” → “Payment methods for this offer”.

### 5. “Who comes in”: the audience and the way in
“Who may enter” decides who sees the space at all: “All students” — every student currently enrolled in one of your courses; “Buyers of “…”” — anyone with current access to one course; “Group “…”” — the students of one group; or “Invite only — you add members”, hidden from everyone while you add its members yourself from the Members tab. For a free space you pick “Joining”: “Instant”, the student gets in with one tap, or “On approval”: they ask, you’re notified, and you approve or decline. For a paid space this choice doesn’t appear: “A paid space needs no approval: anyone the rules allow subscribes and gets in once the payment is confirmed.” Last, “Members open threads”: on, students write their own discussions and questions; off, the space becomes your podium, and comments stay open.
On screen: «Who may enter»، «All students»، «Course buyers»، «Group»، «Invite only — you add members»، «Choose a group…»، «Joining»، «Instant»، «On approval»، «Members open threads»
Tip: Sara’s three spaces: “Editing Q&A club” for “Buyers of “Editing from scratch””, “Instant”, members post. “October cohort — editing” for “Group “October cohort””, with members not opening threads because she posts the classes and summaries there. “Content creator bundle” “Invite only”.
Heads-up: The sheet sets one rule. To open the space to the buyers of two courses, for instance, add the second rule after creating it in “Settings” → “Who may join?”.

### 6. “Courses the subscription unlocks”: the full bundle
When the space is paid and you have courses, “Courses the subscription unlocks” appears: click a course and it turns dark with a ✓. Every member with a running subscription gets into these courses without buying them separately: “Open while the subscription runs; close by themselves when it lapses.” Their progress is kept if they renew. This is how Sara builds her third space: the “Full bundle” shape, the name “Content creator bundle”, 4,000 DZD a month, “Invite only — you add members”, and the course “Editing from scratch”. Under the last sentence, the money line reads: “Each person you add starts with one period, then renews by paying.”
On screen: «Courses the subscription unlocks»، «Full bundle»، «Invite only — you add members»
Tip: No shape picks a course for you, not even “Full bundle”: choose them yourself. With “One-time”, the line becomes: “Each person you add gets in with no end date.”
Heads-up: This choice doesn’t appear for a free space. If you later include a course in a free space from “Settings”, it opens free to everyone who enters.

### 7. Read the last sentence, then “Create space”
At the foot of the sheet, one sentence reads the space back before it exists: “October cohort — editing will be created — 1,500 DZD per month, visible to Group “October cohort”, who enter once they pay. Everything stays editable.” If that is what you want, press “Create space” (or “Cancel”). The space is published the moment it is created — no draft: you land on its “Feed”, it shows in the “Community” panel under “Spaces”, and everyone its rule allows sees it at once. If the rule or an included course could not be saved, you land on the “Settings” tab instead, to finish what’s missing.
On screen: «Create space»، «Cancel»، «Feed»، «Questions»، «Links»، «Members»، «Settings»
Tip: Sara’s first move: a welcome announcement in the “Feed” with the time of Sunday’s class. A space with a post on day one is read far more than an empty one.
Heads-up: An “Invite only” space stays empty until you add its members: open “Members” → “Add students”.

## After creating it
- Write the first post: A welcome announcement in the “Feed” brings the space to life on day one.
- Add members, or wait for them: “Add students” in “Members”, or the join requests if you chose “On approval”.
- Set the payment methods: For a paid space: “Payment methods for this offer” in “Settings”.
- Finish the settings: A second rule, “Member notifications”, and archiving once the space has run its course.

## Questions

**Can I change the shape or the price after creating it?**
Yes. The shape isn’t a stored property, only starting values. Name, colour, price, period, joining, rules and courses all change from the “Settings” tab. And whoever paid keeps their end date, whatever the new price.

**Why is there no “On approval” for a paid space?**
Because the payment is the door: a CCP or BaridiMob receipt is checked by you in “Incoming”, and an EDAHABIA or CIB payment activates by itself. A second approval after paying would mean nothing, so the form doesn’t offer it.

**What exactly does “All students” mean?**
Every student who currently has access to one of your courses, or a subscription to one of your paid spaces. A student registered with the school but with no course doesn’t see an “All students” space.

**How do I sell a bundle to students I choose?**
Pick “Full bundle”, or “Invite only — you add members” with a price. You add students from the Members tab; each starts with one period, then renews by paying from inside the space. A non-member sees neither the space nor a pay button.

**Do students see the space the moment it is created?**
Yes, there is no draft: everyone its rule allows sees it at once. To prepare it first, create it “Invite only — you add members”, then add the rule and switch joining to “Instant” in “Settings” when it’s ready.

**Do I need a space for general announcements?**
No. The “General space” exists for every school and every student with access to one of your courses reads it. Spaces are for a specific audience: the buyers of a course, a group, or paying subscribers.

**Can a free space open a paid course?**
The sheet doesn’t offer courses for a free space. Settings allows it, with a plain warning: “This space is free: these courses will open free to everyone who enters it.” Use it only on purpose.
