# Analytics: the period, the comparison, and the numbers worth a weekly look

> The **Analytics** page answers one question: what happened in your school over the period you pick, compared with the period before? You pick the period once at the top and every number below follows it, in Algiers days. “Overview” holds four numbers (confirmed sales, students with active access, new enrollments, lessons completed), a day-by-day chart, your course ranking and the list of students who haven’t started or have stalled. One example throughout: Sara Makhloufi, a video-editing trainer who owns “En-Nadjah Academy”, opens the page on 5 October 2026 on the last 30 days. It reads the same for a marketing coach, a photographer selling workshops or a teacher preparing students for the baccalaureate.

- Time: About 6 minutes to read
- Who can do it: The page needs the “Analytics” permission: the default teacher role has it and sees “My courses” (their own courses only). “View school-wide analytics” opens “Whole school” and the teacher filter, “Revenue figures” shows the money; the owner and admins have all three. Names under “Need a follow-up” need “View students”.

## In short
1. Period: “30 days” by default, from “7 days” to “A year”, or “Other period” up to a year; teacher and course filters.
2. Comparison: every number against the same number of days just before the period, in Algiers time.
3. Numbers: confirmed sales, students with active access (now), new enrollments, lessons completed.
4. Chart: a bar per day up to 35 days, then weeks, then months; “Show the numbers” and “Export CSV”.
5. Courses: the ones with most students and their completion, each opening its lesson-by-lesson analytics.
6. Follow-up: who hasn’t started or hasn’t progressed for 14 days, the first 8 names.

## Before you start
- At least one course in your school: before that the page shows “Nothing to analyse yet” and a “Create a course” button.
- At least the “Analytics” permission, and “Revenue figures” to see money: see the lesson on roles.
- A few days of activity: enrollments, lessons completed, approved orders. Every number is read from the platform’s own activity; nothing is typed in by hand.

## The steps

### 1. Pick the period, and every number follows
Open Analytics from the “Grow & reach” group of the menu. Above the title you read your scope: “Whole school” if you have “View school-wide analytics”, or “My courses” for a teacher who sees only their own. Below it, the period bar: “7 days”, “30 days” (what the page opens on), “90 days”, “This month”, “Last month”, “A year”, then “Other period”, which opens “From”, “To” and an “Apply” button. A period can’t exceed a year or include a day still to come; otherwise you read “Pick a period of a year at most, with no days still to come.”. Next to the bar, two filters when they make sense: “All teachers” if you see the whole school and it has more than one teacher, “All courses” if you have more than one course. Picking a teacher resets the course to “All courses” and narrows its list to their courses. Every choice is kept in the page address: save the link and you come back to the same period, filter and tab. The refresh button next to “Export CSV” recalculates without changing your choices.
On screen: «Analytics»، «Whole school»، «My courses»، «7 days»، «30 days»، «90 days»، «This month»، «Last month»، «A year»، «Other period»، «From»، «To»، «Apply»، «All teachers»، «All courses»
Tip: Give each question its period: “7 days” for the Sunday weekly check, “Last month” for the monthly tally at the start of each month.
Heads-up: Picking a course or a teacher changes what money means: only course sales count then, without sessions, communities or the store. For the full picture, go back to “All courses” and “All teachers”.

### 2. The comparison: the same days, just before
Under the bar, one line says exactly what you’re reading: 6 Sept – 5 Oct 2026, then “Compared with 7 Aug – 5 Sept 2026”, then “Algiers time”. One rule for the whole page: the previous period is the same number of days just before yours, and each day starts and ends at midnight Algiers time, wherever you or your students are. Every comparable number carries a badge: “+21% on the previous period” in green when it rises, “−7% on the previous period” when it falls, “Same as the previous period” when it’s level, and “No comparison yet” when the previous period was zero, because a percentage of zero means nothing. For Sara: 30,200 DZD of sales this period against 25,000 DZD before, so “+21% on the previous period”. The comparison period can’t be chosen: to compare September with last September, open each period through “Other period” and read both numbers.
On screen: «Compared with 7 Aug – 5 Sept 2026»، «Algiers time»، «+21% on the previous period»، «−7% on the previous period»، «Same as the previous period»، «No comparison yet»
Tip: “This month” on 5 October is 1–5 October, compared with 26–30 September, not 1–5 September. “Last month” is compared the same way with the same number of days before it: September (30 days) with 2–31 August.
Heads-up: A big percentage on a small number says little: from two enrollments to three reads “+50% on the previous period”. Look at the number before the badge.

### 3. Four numbers at the top of “Overview”
Under the tabs, four cards, each with a small line saying what it counts. Confirmed sales — “Everything whose payment was confirmed in the period” —: every order you approved or that was paid online, every activation card used, on the day it was confirmed (the detail is in the “Sales” lesson). Students with active access — “Now, whatever the period” —: students, each once, who now have an active, unexpired enrollment in the chosen courses and an active account; the period doesn’t change it. New enrollments — “Each course enrollment counts on its own” —: a student who enrolls in two courses is two enrollments. Lessons completed — “Published lessons your students completed in the period” —: each lesson a student completed counts once; drafts don’t count. For Sara: 30,200 DZD, 64 students, 11 enrollments (+38%) and 186 lessons completed (−7%). Without “Revenue figures” there is no money card at all; in its place, Average completion: lessons completed out of all published lessons, for active enrollments.
On screen: «Confirmed sales»، «Everything whose payment was confirmed in the period»، «Students with active access»، «Now, whatever the period»، «New enrollments»، «Each course enrollment counts on its own»، «Lessons completed»، «Published lessons your students completed in the period»، «Average completion»
Tip: “Students with active access” doesn’t follow the period. To know how many joined this month, read “New enrollments” with “This month”.
Heads-up: Confirmed sales aren’t net profit: no payment fees, teacher pay or any other cost is taken out.

### 4. The chart: the period in bars, the highest one spelled out
Under the numbers, a bar chart of what you pick in its switch: “Confirmed sales” (by the day the payment was confirmed), “New enrollments” (by the day of enrollment) or “Lessons completed” (by the day the lesson was completed). The bar follows the period’s length: a day per bar up to 35 days, then a week up to 120 days, then a month, so a year doesn’t turn into 365 threads. Above the chart, a line reads the highest bar in words: “Highest: 16 Sept 2026 — 9,000 DZD”. Hover a bar, tap it with a finger or step through with the arrow keys, and the line reads that day. A period with no activity draws no bars and says “No activity in this period.”. Under the chart, “Show the numbers” opens a table of each day, week or month and its value; “Hide the numbers” folds it. At the top of the page, the Export CSV button downloads the period, one row per day: “Date”, “New enrollments”, “Lessons completed”, and “Confirmed sales (DZD)” for those who see money; it opens in Excel or Google Sheets.
On screen: «Confirmed sales»، «New enrollments»، «Lessons completed»، «Highest: 16 Sept 2026 — 9,000 DZD»، «No activity in this period.»، «Show the numbers»، «Hide the numbers»، «Export CSV»، «Confirmed sales (DZD)»
Tip: One lone tall sales bar is often a day you approved several receipts at once: money is dated by approval, not by the transfer. Approve daily and the chart tells the truth.
Heads-up: The CSV holds the daily series only: no course table, no student names, no sales split by kind.

### 5. Courses: the busiest, and where students stop
Under the chart, the Courses card — “By students with active access. Open a course to see where its students stop.” —: the first 6 courses, each with its number of students and a completion bar, that is the lessons completed out of the published lessons for its active enrollments, right now. For Sara: “Video editing from scratch”, 38 students and 61%; “Instagram marketing” by Nesrine Aissaoui, 19 students and 44%; “Color grading in DaVinci Resolve”, 12 students and 35%. That’s 69 enrollments for 64 students: someone taking two courses counts in each. Click a course and its own “Analytics” tab opens: “Completion, lesson by lesson” in curriculum order, and the steepest drop between two consecutive lessons. That’s where you see exactly which lesson its students stop at; the detail is in the “Learning” lesson.
On screen: «Courses»، «By students with active access. Open a course to see where its students stop.»، «Analytics»، «Completion, lesson by lesson»
Tip: A course with many students and low completion may have just launched. Check its age before changing anything.
Heads-up: Completion here is for right now, not for the period: changing the period doesn’t change it.

### 6. Who needs a follow-up: not started, and stalled
Next to the courses, the Need a follow-up card shows at the top how many students haven’t started or haven’t progressed for 14 days (17 for Sara), then the first 8 names. Each name has its state: “Not started” — active access for more than 14 days and no progress in any lesson, with “No lesson started” under it —, or “No recent progress” — they progressed, then stopped, with the date of their last progress: “Last progress 12 Sept 2026”. The order starts with the oldest: those who never started first, then those stopped the longest. Progress means something the student records in a lesson, not just opening the portal. The list is a snapshot of now; it doesn’t follow the period. Names need “View students”; without it you read “Student names need the “View students” permission.”. The “Students” button at the top of the card opens the student directory, where you contact them.
On screen: «Need a follow-up»، «Not started»، «No lesson started»، «No recent progress»، «Last progress 12 Sept 2026»، «Students»
Tip: Make it a Sunday habit: a short message to Rania Cherif (“I saw you signed up but haven’t started — can I help with the first lesson?”) brings a student back better than any ad.
Heads-up: There’s no state for having finished a course: a student who completed everything and then rested for 14 days shows here as “No recent progress”. Check their progress under “Students” before you write.

## After your first read
- Understand the money number: Exactly what confirmed sales count, split by kind and payment method: the “Sales” lesson.
- Open your courses’ analytics: Engagement, exams, lesson-by-lesson completion and the team: the “Learning” lesson.
- Follow up on who stalled: “Need a follow-up” every week, and the contact from the “Students” directory.
- Keep your numbers: “Export CSV” on “Last month” at the start of every month.

## Questions

**Why does “Students with active access” differ from “Your students” on the home page?**
“Your students” in “Your numbers” counts every active student account in your school, even with no course or an expired enrollment. “Students with active access” counts only those who now have an active, unexpired enrollment in the chosen courses, and an active account. The gap is usually expired or suspended enrollments.

**Can I see watch time or the most-watched lessons?**
No. The platform measures neither watch time nor how often a lesson is opened. The closest: “Lessons completed” here, and “Completion, lesson by lesson” in each course’s “Analytics” tab, which says how many students finished each lesson.

**Does Analytics know where my students came from: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok?**
No. There are no traffic sources or UTM links in “Analytics”. To measure your ads, connect the pixel under “Settings” → “Tracking” and read the results in Meta or TikTok.

**Can I compare two periods of my choice?**
Not on the page itself: the comparison is always with the same number of days just before your period. To compare October with last October, open each period through “Other period” and note both numbers.

**What does the “No comparison yet” badge mean?**
That the previous period was zero for this number, so no percentage can be computed. It happens in a new school’s first month, or for a number that didn’t move before the period.

**Are there cohorts or a retention rate?**
No. Nothing in the platform computes cohorts or month-over-month retention. The closest is “Student engagement” in the “Learning” tab: a snapshot of who was active in the last 14 days and who stalled.

**Which time zone are days counted in?**
Always Algiers time, wherever you or your students are. The page has no other time-zone choice.

**Are the numbers live?**
They’re computed when you open the page or change the period or a filter. Switching tabs doesn’t recalculate, since every tab arrived together. The refresh button next to “Export CSV” recalculates right away.

**Why do I see “My courses” and not “Whole school”?**
Your role has “Analytics” without “View school-wide analytics”: you see only your courses, and their sales if you have “Revenue figures”. The owner changes this under roles.
